How the appearance connects to Coldplay’s “All My Love”
Martin and Van Dyke’s appearance was connected to Coldplay’s “All My Love” video. ABC described an extended director’s cut featuring Martin, Van Dyke, members of Van Dyke’s family and clips from Van Dyke’s career. The video includes Van Dyke reflecting on his life and singing with Martin.
In the video, Van Dyke says, “I think I’m one of those lucky people who got to do for a living what I would have done anyway.” He also reflects, “When you think how lucky I am, I got to do what I do — play and act silly.” ABC quoted both remarks in its coverage of the video.
