Joan Vassos said a removable breast pad slipped out from beneath her sundress during her Kansas hometown date with Chock Chapple on The Golden Bachelorette. She believed the cameras did not catch the wardrobe mishap, though that is her recollection—not independent confirmation of what the production footage shows.
What Joan Vassos said happened
In an interview published by Entertainment Weekly on November 7, 2024, Vassos recalled wearing removable breast pads—what she called “chicken cutlet things”—under a sundress to avoid visible bra straps. The date had gone on for hours in hot weather, and, as Chapple spoke in front of family and friends, one pad began to come loose.
“As he’s talking, I can feel the boob pad coming unstuck,” Vassos recalled. She said it slid down beneath the dress and fell at her feet. She described the heat as “honestly like 105 degrees”; that figure is her interview recollection, not a verified weather-station reading. AOL’s reproduction of the Entertainment Weekly interview is the source for her first-person account.
Where the blooper took place
Vassos identified the date as her hometown with Chapple in Kansas. Us Weekly specifies Wichita, Kansas, and describes the item as a silicone breast cover that came loose in the heat. Us Weekly’s recap and Bustle’s same-day recap also report the anecdote from the interview.

Did the cameras capture it?
Vassos said she did not think they did: “But the cameras, I don’t think caught it, because they definitely would’ve shown it.” The interview and the recaps establish what she said, but do not independently establish whether footage of the moment exists or what the production cameras recorded.
When she told the story
The anecdote concerns filming for Vassos’s 2024 season of The Golden Bachelorette. The interview introduction says she shared it after filming the season’s Men Tell All. Entertainment Weekly, Bustle and Us Weekly published their accounts on November 7, 2024, so this is a retrospective story, not a newly occurring event.
