What Emily Kuch said led her to call off the wedding
Emily said the decision came from several overlapping concerns in a relationship that had lasted for years. She wanted a prenup, but she and her fiancé disagreed over some of its terms. Asked whether that was why she ended the wedding plans, she reportedly said it was “absolutely not” the only reason.
Us Weekly’s October 14, 2024 recap attributes this reflection to Emily: “I would rather walk away from something knowing that I chose myself than to spend the rest of my life not being loved the way that I love somebody.” The outlet’s recap is the source for the quotation; it was not independently checked against the podcast audio.
Disagreements about a prenup
Emily said she wanted a prenuptial agreement and that they could not agree on some terms. Her account does not support reducing the cancellation to a dispute over the agreement: she said the prenup was not the sole reason.

Concerns around the bachelor party and rehearsal
Emily also described learning late that her fiancé planned a second bachelor party abroad. She said he arrived late to the rehearsal wearing sweatpants and did not interact much with her at the rehearsal dinner, leaving her feeling humiliated. These are details attributed to Emily in Us Weekly’s recap, rather than independently verified accounts of her former fiancé’s conduct.
A relationship with earlier trust problems
Us Weekly reported that the couple began dating in 2013. Emily said she moved out in 2018 after learning of alleged infidelity; the pair later reconciled. They became engaged in 2021. What happened on the wedding day
The planned ceremony was in Hawaii in 2022. Emily said that during a conversation on the wedding day, she asked her fiancé whether they should cancel the ceremony, and he agreed. She described the feeling between them with the line “Love was not in the room with us,” as quoted in Us Weekly’s recap.
According to Emily’s account, the reception went ahead while she tried to leave Hawaii. The podcast episode did not name her former partner, Us Weekly reported.

What is known about Emily’s former fiancé
Us Weekly noted that the Daily Mail had reported in 2022 that Emily was engaged to Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley. But the podcast episode, according to the recap, did not identify Emily’s former partner, and Emily did not confirm his identity in the reported discussion. The identification should therefore be treated as outside reporting, not as something established by her podcast account.
Us Weekly said on October 14, 2024 that her former partner had not addressed the podcast appearance as of that publication date and that the outlet had reached out for comment. That dated report does not establish whether he has responded since.
