What the trailer is about
In the film’s fictional California, a new “Grand Lottery” lets anyone who kills the winner before sundown legally claim the multi-billion-dollar prize. Katie Kim (Awkwafina), newly arrived in Los Angeles, mistakenly gets the winning ticket. Noel Cassidy (John Cena), an amateur lottery protection agent, offers to get her through the day in exchange for a share of the prize. Their biggest obstacle includes rival protection agent Louis Lewis (Simu Liu).
The supporting cast announced for the film includes Ayden Mayeri, Donald Elise Watkins, Sam Asghari, and Murray Hill. The lottery and its prize are part of the story, not a real-world lottery or prize offer.

Who made the film, and what to expect
Paul Feig directed Jackpot! from a screenplay by Rob Yescombe. Feig described it as “the Jacky Chan movie I always wanted to make. It’s funny, silly, emotional – a story about someone in over their head.” The interview uses the spelling “Jacky” in the quotation. Cena said of the action: “What I love about the Action here is that it’s comical and realistic.” Read the cast interview.

The film’s announced global premiere on Prime Video was August 15, 2024. Rotten Tomatoes currently lists it as streaming on Prime Video, while Fandango lists rental or purchase options.
