Ricki Maynard announced in August 2025 that she was expecting her first child at age 20. By January 2026, Bachelor Nation reported that she had given birth to a daughter named Romi.
When Ricki Maynard announced her pregnancy
Ricki, also known in some reports as Ricki Hendrick, is Emily Maynard Johnson’s daughter with the late Ricky Hendrick. Emily was the lead of The Bachelorette Season 8.
In late August 2025, Ricki shared the news of her first pregnancy on Instagram. Her Story showed an ultrasound image on her phone’s lock screen, and she later posted ultrasound video and said she was expecting a girl. Bachelor Nation reproduced her caption: “My heart is so full, yet my stomach is so empty because she hates all food, I’m convinced.” Bachelor Nation’s pregnancy coverage and the Instagram Story coverage reported the announcement.
How Emily Maynard Johnson reacted
In September 2025, Emily appeared in Ricki’s Instagram Stories and joked in response to a follower’s question about a “baby outside of marriage,” according to E!’s report. The exchange was described as playful, not as evidence that Emily disapproved of the pregnancy. E! also reported that Emily had prepared a gift for the baby.

What is known about the baby’s father?
Ricki addressed speculation in an Instagram Story by saying her longtime friend Payton Pauls was not the father, as reported by Bachelor Nation. That report does not identify the father, so his identity remains unconfirmed in the cited coverage.
Ricki’s daughter Romi was born in January 2026
On January 26, 2026, Bachelor Nation reported that Emily and her husband, Tyler Johnson, had become grandparents and identified Ricki’s daughter as Romi. The report quoted their announcement: “We became grandparents today!! The feeling is inexpressible 🤍🤍🤍. This is love.” Bachelor Nation’s birth update is the source for the birth date and the baby’s name.
