Robbie Williams and Ayda Field announced on 5 September 2024 that their dogs, Poupette and Walle, had died together on the same night. Field’s account, quoted by The Standard, describes the dogs’ lives with the family and their final moments. It does not give a cause of death.
What happened to Poupette and Walle?
Field said the dogs died together in bed while “Dancing Queen” played, surrounded by love. The Standard reported the couple’s announcement on Thursday, 5 September 2024, and reproduced Field’s description: “Today, our dogs Poupette & Walle left this planet to start an adventure in an infinite galaxy far, far away. They died together in bed, listening to ‘Dancing Queen’, surrounded by tremendous love.”
This is Field’s account as quoted in the report. Neither the report nor the statement it reproduces says why the dogs died. No medical cause or connection between their deaths is established.
Who were Poupette and Walle?
Poupette
Field said Poupette had been with her for 18 years, beginning before she met Williams. She called Poupette her “soulmate” and said people who knew her called the dog “my shadow” because she followed Field wherever she went.

Walle
After Field and Williams met, they decided to get a dog together. Field recalled that they immediately felt Walle was the right dog for them. The report does not give further details about Walle’s age or health.

Poupette and Walle accompanied the couple through major milestones. At Field and Williams’s 2010 wedding, Poupette was Field’s maid of honor and Walle was Williams’s best man, according to Field’s account quoted by The Standard. The report also describes the dogs as part of the family through the years that followed.
