What happened to the scheduled auction?
The auction was scheduled, but it did not take place as announced. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Truist pulled the property from the December 3, 2024 auction, at least the third time it had been withdrawn, so the couple could continue trying to sell it. A scheduled foreclosure auction is not the same as a completed auction or sale.
AOL later reported that the couple completed a private sale for $2.75 million in December 2024, just before the scheduled auction. That reported sale price was not the same as the earlier $3.65 million asking price.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution described the property as a seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom home in its 2024 coverage. AOL’s later reported sale prices are based on property records, but the underlying deed and court file were not independently reviewed for this account.

Why auction notices and completed sales are different
A foreclosure notice or scheduled auction identifies a proposed sale; it does not by itself establish that the property was auctioned or that a lender took ownership. In this case, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported a withdrawal, followed by AOL’s report of a private sale in December 2024. The later 2026 transaction was a resale by new owners, not the couple’s sale.
Georgia’s Attorney General describes the state as using non-judicial foreclosure, meaning a lender may foreclose without first filing suit or appearing before a judge. The state’s general consumer guidance says notice must be sent at least 30 days before a proposed sale, with the foreclosure notice published in the county’s official newspaper for four consecutive weeks; it also describes public courthouse-step sales on the first Tuesday of the month. How the reported prices compare
The highest figures in the timeline were asking prices, not completed-sale amounts. The 2024 listing figures reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution were $6 million initially and $3.65 million in November. AOL later reported that the couple’s December 2024 sale closed at $2.75 million. AOL also reported a separate $3.67 million closing when the subsequent owners resold the property on June 30, 2026, after relisting it at $4.65 million and reducing the asking price twice.
