Morgan Wallen said he walked off the Saturday Night Live stage because he was ready to go home after spending the week there. Asked whether the show had made him mad, Wallen answered, “No, no,” during a May 2025 interview with Caleb Pressley on Sundae Conversations. The exit happened during the closing goodnights of the March 29, 2025, episode hosted by Mikey Madison.
Why did Morgan Wallen walk off SNL?
Wallen’s stated reason was that he was ready to leave after being at the show all week. In the Sundae Conversations interview, Pressley asked whether SNL had made him mad. Wallen replied, “No, no,” then said, “I was just ready to go home. Been there all week,” as reported by the Los Angeles Times. E! News also reported his explanation.

After the show, Wallen posted a photo of a private plane with the caption “Get me to God’s country.” The post and his departure drew online attention, but the caption does not establish that he was responding to a specific conflict or explain why he left the stage.
