Chloe Troast said she would not return to Saturday Night Live for Season 50 and that the decision was not hers. She did not publicly explain why the show did not ask her back, and the available reports do not establish a reason.
What Chloe Troast said about leaving SNL
In a TikTok statement posted September 10, 2024, after the Season 50 cast announcement, Troast wrote: “Hey everyone! I wanted to let you know that I will not be on SNL next season. This was not my choice, I wish I was there getting to be with my friends. It truly felt like a second home. Thank you to everyone. I love you all 🫶.” People reproduced the statement in its September 11, 2024 report, republished by Yahoo Entertainment: People’s report on Troast’s exit.

Troast also posted on Instagram, according to the same report: “Unfortunately I was not asked back to SNL this season. I wish I was going back to be with all the amazing friends I made there, it truly felt like home. But it wasn’t in the cards.” These are her words as quoted in the report, rather than independently retrieved social-media posts.
Why wasn’t Chloe Troast asked back?
The reason has not been established in the cited coverage. Troast said she was not asked back and that leaving was not her choice; neither People’s report nor The Hollywood Reporter’s September 12, 2024 report gives an explanation from the show or NBC. The Hollywood Reporter’s account, also republished by Yahoo Entertainment, is available at The Hollywood Reporter’s report.
Her statement does not by itself establish a dispute or disclose the show’s internal reasoning. The coverage does not quote an NBC or SNL spokesperson explaining the decision, so claims about a specific motive would go beyond what is known.
Troast’s one-season run and the Season 50 cast announcement
Troast joined Saturday Night Live as a featured player for Season 49 and was not part of the cast for Season 50, making her tenure one season, as reported by People and The Hollywood Reporter.
