Fyre Festival II was advertised for May 30–June 2, 2025, first on Isla Mujeres, Mexico, with ticket prices ranging from about US$1,400 to US$1.1 million. Organizers later discussed moving it to Playa del Carmen, but local officials disputed the event’s status. On April 18, 2025, ticketing partner SoldOut.com said the festival had been postponed, with no new date or location announced. Those advertised dates have passed; the cited reporting does not establish a replacement schedule.
What Fyre Festival II advertised
In February 2025, organizers promoted a four-day festival running May 30 through June 2, initially on Isla Mujeres, an island near Cancún. The coverage cited here did not report an announced performer lineup, so no artist should be treated as confirmed on that basis.
- Dates: May 30–June 2, 2025.
- First announced location: Isla Mujeres, Mexico.
- Advertised ticket range: approximately US$1,400 to US$1.1 million, according to ABC News Australia.
- Tickets reportedly offered: Sky News reported that 2,000 tickets had officially gone on sale earlier that week; that figure does not show how many were sold. (Sky News)
The prices and package descriptions were promotional terms, not evidence that travel, lodging, or festival access was delivered.
What the advertised ticket tiers included
Coverage described a wide gap between entry-level admission and the most expensive package. Fox News reported that the top advertised tier was marketed for eight people and listed private air and yacht travel, a luxury villa, and four-day festival access.

Why the location changed from Isla Mujeres to Playa del Carmen
Isla Mujeres was the original announcement
When the festival details were first publicized, Isla Mujeres tourism official Edgar Gasca said the local tourism directorate had no knowledge of, or contact about, the event. Gasca told the Daily Mail: “We have no knowledge of this event, nor contact with any person or company about it. For us, this is an event that does not exist.”

Organizers later referred to Playa del Carmen
By April, organizers were discussing Playa del Carmen instead. The municipal government said there would be no event named Fyre 2 there and that a review found no record or planning for it in the municipality. In a statement translated into English by DJ Mag, officials said: “After a thorough review, there is no record or planning of any such event in the municipality.” (DJ Mag)

Billy McFarland disputed the officials’ account, saying organizers had worked with city officials and followed proper procedures. He also promoted the event by saying, “Fyre 2 is real. My dream is finally becoming a reality.” These conflicting statements do not establish that the event had municipal approval or that a permit had been obtained.
Was Fyre Festival II postponed?
Yes. On April 18, 2025, SoldOut.com told Fox News that organizers had officially postponed the event and said: “At this time, no new date or location has been announced.” The ticketing partner said it had issued full refunds to customers who bought directly through SoldOut.com. That statement does not establish refund arrangements for purchases through other channels. (Fox News)
