The account relied on unnamed sources; it is not a publicly confirmed statement from Slate or evidence of a formal HR finding. A later report about Slate’s deposition described a separate incident involving director and co-star Justin Baldoni.
What did Jenny Slate reportedly complain about?
The Hollywood Reporter, in a story surfaced through a February 2025 Yahoo page, reported that Slate complained to Sony about producer Jamey Heath. The reported interaction concerned her New York housing during production and language about motherhood. The account was attributed to unnamed sources, and Slate’s representative did not respond to the outlet’s request for comment, according to the report’s search-result excerpt. Read the reported account.
The available reporting identifies Sony, the film’s distributor, as the recipient of the complaint. It does not establish that Slate filed a formal complaint with a human-resources department, and the underlying complaint record or exact words are not available in the reviewed sources. The claim should therefore be described as a reported complaint, not a verified finding or a direct quotation from Slate.
How is the later deposition account different?
In coverage published January 20, 2026, TheWrap reported on Slate’s September 26, 2025 deposition testimony concerning separate interactions with Baldoni. According to TheWrap’s account, Slate characterized comments about actors’ bodies and wardrobes as inappropriate and unprofessional, and said she did not formally complain at the time. TheWrap’s report is based on testimony; the deposition transcript was not independently reviewed here. Read TheWrap’s deposition coverage.

What happened in the wider Lively–Baldoni case?
The Associated Press reported that Blake Lively and Baldoni settled their civil case before trial on May 4, 2026, with terms undisclosed. The settlement does not, on the available reporting, establish whether Slate’s separate reported complaint was litigated or resolved. Read the AP settlement report.
