TekSavvy announced its coast-to-coast expansion on October 19, 2021, adding select areas in eight provinces to earlier availability in Ontario and Quebec. You need eligible TekSavvy residential internet, and the service’s current site directs customers to check their address before ordering.
Is TekSavvy TV available in my area?
The 2021 expansion named select regions in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. TekSavvy had previously made the service available to qualifying customers in Ontario and Quebec, as reflected in the app’s September 2020 version history. Neither announcement establishes coverage at every address in those provinces.
TekSavvy’s current Streaming TV page and homepage still describe eligibility as limited to select regions and prompt customers to check availability. The reviewed pages do not give a complete province-by-province or address-level coverage list, so an address check is the practical way to find out whether you can subscribe.
Do I need TekSavvy internet?
Yes. TekSavvy TV is for eligible TekSavvy residential internet customers, and in-home viewing requires a TekSavvy internet connection. At launch, the minimum stated download speed was 15 Mbps. The current offer page also refers to a 15 Mbps minimum for qualifying new residential internet customers, but check the current requirements for your address and plan before ordering; the 2021 launch conditions should not be assumed to describe every current package.

What does TekSavvy TV cost?
The $20 starting price in the 2021 announcement is historical, not the current listed price. On October 4, 2026, TekSavvy’s homepage listed Basic at $25 per month and Pick 10 at $20 per month, for a combined retail total of $45 per month. It also described a one-month $0 offer for qualifying new residential internet customers in select regions; retail pricing applies after the promotional month unless TV is cancelled during that month. Offers and eligibility can change, and applicable taxes may be extra where indicated, so verify the live terms before subscribing.

What can you watch, and where?
At launch, TekSavvy advertised more than 150 live HD channels, video on demand, look-back and restart, plus cloud PVR for an additional monthly charge. Selected channels could also be watched through their broadcasters’ GO apps, subject to having a subscription to the relevant channel. The channel count is the company’s product claim in its dated announcement, not an independent measurement.

Compare the rental cost over the period you expect to use the service with any upfront cost of compatible hardware. The rental price in the 2021 announcement was different, so use the current listing rather than older launch coverage when making that calculation.
What TekSavvy’s “coast to coast” announcement means
The phrase described an expansion into select regions across additional provinces, not universal national availability. In its 2021 announcement, TekSavvy CEO and Hastings Cable Vision President Marc Gaudrault said the company was proud to offer Canadians more choice in telecom and video entertainment. That is the company’s stated position; the announcement does not establish nationwide coverage, uptake, customer satisfaction or comparative pricing.
