The original X post could not be opened for direct verification. AUTOMATON’s description and translation are therefore the basis for what the post showed and said; its English rendering should not be treated as a verified verbatim English statement from PETA. AUTOMATON rendered the argument as a contrast between the character’s comeback story and what happened to the real Silence Suzuka, but that wording is a translation reported by the outlet, not an independently checked quotation.

The real racehorse
AUTOMATON reports that the real Silence Suzuka fractured his left foreleg during the 1998 Tenno Sho (Autumn), was diagnosed with an incurable comminuted carpal fracture, and was euthanized at the racecourse. The outlet links this account to the Asahi Shimbun, but that page was not retrievable for direct confirmation, so the details here remain attributed to AUTOMATON.

The fictional character
AUTOMATON contrasts the real horse’s history with the franchise’s portrayal: in the anime, the character survives an injury and later returns; in the game, a special event refers to the historical story without depicting the fatal injury. The fictional character and the real horse share a name and historical reference, but their stories are not identical.
What Cygames’ fan-work rules do—and do not—say

The listed kinds of material Cygames asks creators to refrain from publishing or using include violent or grotesque content and material supporting or denigrating a particular political, religious, or ideological position. Cygames says it makes the final determination about whether work falls into those categories and notes that it may consider legal action.
Those rules provide context for why the post drew concern, but they are not a ruling on this post. The available sources do not establish that Cygames found a violation, that the post infringed copyright, or that the company took legal action.

What the reported injury figures mean
AUTOMATON attributes figures to a Japan Racing Association document published in 2019: 997 racehorses, or 0.139% of 715,210 JRA flat-racing starts, suffered fatal musculoskeletal injuries during competition from 2003 through 2017. The linked JRA PDF could not be retrieved for direct checking, so these figures are secondhand here. They describe the stated JRA competition dataset and period; they should not be read as a rate for all horses or other periods.
AUTOMATON also reports rates of 0.153% for 2003–2007, 0.151% for 2008–2012, and 0.114% for 2013–2017, attributing each to the same 2019 JRA document. The primary PDF was likewise unavailable for verification.
