The project’s release date and viewing platform have not been announced.
What Blair says the documentary will cover
Speaking at the ADL State of the Arts Reception at the Jewish Museum in New York, Blair described Hineni as a documentary about antisemitism. She said she wants it to reach people who were not at the event, explaining: “It’s a documentary about antisemitism, and as confounding and confusing as it seems to be because no one wants to talk about geopolitics but it seems to get intermingled completely, but I wanted to make this made for the people who are not in this room.”
Her plans for the film
Blair said the documentary would go to Israel and include conversations with people who disagree with her. She said she wants to leave that disagreement in the finished film, adding, “You don’t change a mind by only talking to people who already agree with you.” These are her stated intentions; the announcement does not confirm that filming is complete or identify particular scenes that will appear.
How ADL is involved
Blair said she and the ADL are working together on research, resources, and advising. Her announcement did not name a production company, distributor, broadcaster, or streaming service. It also gave no release date, runtime, or physical-media details, so there is not yet a confirmed way to watch or buy Hineni. ADL’s full remarks are the source for the announcement.

Blair’s account of the 2024 controversy
Blair connected the project to an online comment she posted in February 2024. In her account at the reception, she said the comment offended people, that she apologized immediately, and that professional and personal relationships ended afterward. Those statements reflect Blair’s description of the episode and its consequences; the remarks do not independently establish why other people or organizations acted as they did.
Not the same film as Introducing, Selma Blair
Introducing, Selma Blair is an earlier documentary about Blair’s life after her multiple sclerosis diagnosis. The International Documentary Association credits Rachel Fleit as its director.
