Kellita Smith did not disappear after playing Wanda McCullough, Bernie Mac’s wife on The Bernie Mac Show. She continued acting, with one of her best-known later roles as Roberta Warren on Syfy’s Z Nation. A retrospective says she kept working in film and television into the 2020s, but the sources available do not establish what she is appearing in right now.
From Wanda McCullough to Roberta Warren
On The Bernie Mac Show, Smith played Wanda McCullough, the wife of Bernie Mac’s character. Hulu’s catalog describes the sitcom and lists Smith among its stars. The series is listed there as five seasons and 104 episodes; catalog availability and details can vary by region and change over time. Hulu’s series listing
Smith’s career did not end with the sitcom. Before and around that period, her screen work included appearances in The Jamie Foxx Show, Martin, Nash Bridges and NYPD Blue, among other credits. Her move into Z Nation
Smith took a prominent turn into action drama as Roberta Warren on Syfy’s Z Nation. In a November 2015 interview, she discussed the character and the show, as well as her interest in doing both comedy and drama. A later cast retrospective says she became a main character in 2014. Asked in that 2015 interview whether taking the role was a conscious decision to move beyond comedy, Smith replied: “I kind of want to say yes, but unemployment will make you do a lot of things!” In context, the joke acknowledged the practical uncertainty actors face when deciding which work to take; it was not a statement that she had quit comedy.
What later accounts say about her career
An August 2020 episode listing for Hustling with Vivica A. Fox describes a conversation with Smith about her childhood and early career, Z Nation, the film Influence and memories of Bernie Mac. That listing documents what the episode covered in 2020; it does not show that Influence is a current project. Apple Podcasts episode listing

REVOLT’s later retrospective says Smith continued acting in films and television into the 2020s while keeping a relatively low profile. It does not name a latest credit or explain her privacy. The available sources therefore support a continued career, not a claim that she left acting—and they do not confirm what she is filming or appearing in now.
