The original Home Alone cast took different paths after the 1990 hit and its 1992 sequel. Macaulay Culkin remains publicly active, Catherine O’Hara died in January 2026, and John Heard died in 2017. Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern have notable later credits, though those roles do not establish what either is working on now.

Macaulay Culkin: Kevin McCallister
Culkin returned to acting after time away from the spotlight. Later credits cited by Parade include an appearance in American Horror Story: Double Feature and voice work in the 2025 film Zootopia 2. In September 2026, he joined a tribute to O’Hara at the Emmy Awards.
Speaking at that tribute, Culkin described the bond he felt with his former co-star: “She was my mom. She was our mama, and by extension, she’s all of our mama.” The line was part of his remarks honoring O’Hara, not a general statement about his life. The Associated Press covered the event and quotation in its Emmy tribute report.

Catherine O’Hara: Kate McCallister
O’Hara died on January 30, 2026, at age 71. The Associated Press reported pulmonary embolism as the cause of death and rectal cancer as the underlying cause. Her career extended well beyond Home Alone: she was known for SCTV, Christopher Guest films and her Emmy-winning performance as Moira Rose in Schitt’s Creek.
Her later screen work included the 2024 Beetlejuice sequel, The Studio and The Last of Us. The AP obituary covers her death and career in detail: Catherine O’Hara dies at 71.

John Heard: Peter McCallister
Heard, who played Kevin’s father, died in 2017 at age 71. He continued acting after the first two Home Alone films; Parade lists credits including Gladiator (1992), The Guardian (2006) and television appearances. Those are highlights from a longer career, not evidence of present-day activity.
Joe Pesci: Harry
Pesci’s post-Home Alone career included prominent crime and comedy roles, among them The Irishman (2019), as well as a part in the Peacock series Bupkis. Parade traces his filmography from Goodfellas and My Cousin Vinny through those later credits. The reporting cited here does not identify a new 2026 role, so these are best understood as notable later work rather than a current-project update.

Daniel Stern: Marv
Stern continued working in television after playing burglar Marv. He narrated The Wonder Years and later appeared in series including Shrill and For All Mankind, according to Parade. These credits describe parts of his career; they do not by themselves establish a current project.

The cast’s paths are not a single “where are they now” story. Culkin’s later acting and public appearance at O’Hara’s tribute provide a present-day connection to the films, while O’Hara and Heard have died. Pesci and Stern are represented here through documented later roles rather than claims about their current schedules. For a rewatch, the original 1990 film and 1992 sequel remain the clearest way to revisit the performances that made the group familiar.
