Faye “Nanny Faye” Chrisley is Todd Chrisley’s mother and a familiar personality from the reality series Chrisley Knows Best. The show and USA Network’s family guide presented her as a playful, mischievous presence close to Todd and her grandchildren. Public updates from 2023 also documented her support for family members during Todd and Julie Chrisley’s imprisonment and her own account of bladder cancer treatment; those updates are dated, not descriptions of her circumstances today.
Who is Nanny Faye Chrisley?
Faye Chrisley is Todd Chrisley’s mother. “Nanny Faye” is the affectionate name used for her on Chrisley Knows Best and in entertainment coverage. USA Network’s 2022 family guide includes her among the Chrisleys and describes her as close to Todd and her grandchildren.
The series offered viewers a reality-TV portrayal rather than a complete account of Faye’s private life. In its guide, USA Network characterized her on-screen persona as humorous and mischievous, with a fondness for jokes, gambling and prank wars. Those are the network’s descriptions of the character viewers saw on the show.
What was Nanny Faye known for on Chrisley Knows Best?
Faye was part of the family ensemble on Chrisley Knows Best, a reality series following Todd Chrisley and his family. The Associated Press reported in May 2025 that the show ran from 2014 to 2023. Its humor often came from family banter and pranks; USA Network’s guide highlighted Faye’s mischievous streak as part of that television dynamic.

What did Nanny Faye say about supporting her family?
In a June 2023 account of a conversation on granddaughter Lindsie Chrisley’s podcast Southern Tea, the Los Angeles Times reported that Faye said she was checking on family members while Todd and Julie were incarcerated. She described the responsibility by saying, “I have to be the backbone.” The comment reflects that period and should not be read as a current report on the family’s circumstances.
