Jane Slagsvol is Jimmy Buffett’s widow; after their marriage, she was often known as Jane Buffett. Us Weekly reported in March 2026 that the couple married in 1977. They had three children: Savannah, Sarah and Cameron.

The approximately $275 million figure used in Associated Press reporting in 2025 and The Wall Street Journal’s September 2026 coverage is an estimate. It is not a court-confirmed final valuation, and it should not be read as Jane’s personal net worth.
Why are Jane Buffett and Richard Mozenter in court?
The dispute centers on access to financial information, the co-trustees’ authority, fees and litigation expenses, and Mozenter’s proposed transfer of assets to a new trust. The central conflict is that Jane wants Mozenter removed, while Mozenter has separately sought her removal. Each side has challenged the other’s conduct; the accusations remain contested, not findings that either party mismanaged the trust.

The filings and reported arguments describe competing accounts. Jane’s claims about withheld information and fees have not been established as findings against Mozenter; his account of Buffett’s reasons for choosing an independent trustee is likewise a position presented in his lawsuit, not a judicial finding about Buffett’s private views.
