San Diego Comic-Con 2025 ran July 24–27, bringing a broad slate of film, television, animation, comics, and collectibles news. Here are the weekend’s major reported reveals, with public trailers distinguished from footage shown to attendees.
What happened at SDCC 2025?
Associated Press reported an estimated 135,000 attendees at the San Diego convention; that was an event-era estimate, not an audited final count. AP also noted that Marvel Studios and DC’s Superman film slate sat out the major film presentations. That did not mean Marvel or DC were absent from the convention: both had activity elsewhere, including publishing and booth-related news.
The announcements below are prominent highlights reported by KPBS, AP, and other event coverage, rather than a complete inventory of every panel or reveal. One important distinction: a trailer or clip released publicly can be watched outside the convention, while footage shown in a panel may remain exclusive to the room.
Superhero and comic-book adaptations
Peacemaker Season 2
DC’s Peacemaker was among the weekend’s major screen attractions. KPBS included a new Season 2 trailer among its publicly linked trailers and clips. DC also reported Peacemaker merchandise and convention activations, illustrating that the property had a presence beyond the screen announcement.

Gen V Season 2 and The Boys Season 5
Gen V Season 2 brought crossover details connected to The Boys, along with a trailer covered by KPBS. In contrast, the Season 5 material for The Boys was reported as footage shown at the convention. Those are different kinds of reveal: the former had a public trailer, while the latter was an attendee preview.
Invincible Season 4
The animated superhero series revealed casting and character-design news for Season 4. The event coverage framed this as a casting and visual reveal, not as a publicly released full trailer.
Marvel, DC, and comics publishing
Marvel’s activity included publishing news, while DC’s convention program put comics and graphic novels in the foreground. DC’s advance announcement described a booth themed around the company’s 1935–1945 origins, with publishing panels, comics, graphic novels, limited foil variants, prints, and merchandise. Its listed editions included Absolute Batman, Absolute Superman, and Absolute Wonder Woman.
DC’s post-event recap reported announcements for the Knightfight tie-in series and Absolute Green Arrow, which was then planned for early 2026. It also described news tied to Superman and Fortnite. These are announcements made at the 2025 convention; they do not, on their own, establish a current release schedule or availability.

Horror and darker genre stories

KPBS highlighted a teaser for the IT prequel series, as well as Pennywise news. The teaser was included among the publicly linked material in its retrospective roundup.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, The Strangers: Chapter 2, and The Long Walk
These films featured in the convention’s horror slate. KPBS included public trailers or clips for all three in its roundup. AP separately reported that fans attended Hall H presentations for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and The Toxic Avenger.
Predator: Badlands
Coverage included a trailer or clip for Predator: Badlands, while AP reported a more substantial in-room preview: director Dan Trachtenberg showed the first 15 minutes as an unfinished cut. AP also reported that the story would center on the Predator’s perspective. The 15-minute preview was not the same thing as a publicly released trailer.
Fantasy, science fiction, and franchise television
Interview with the Vampire and Talamasca
The third season of Interview with the Vampire received a new title, The Vampire Lestat, and first-look footage. A teaser for Talamasca was another reveal in the same supernatural television landscape.

Outlander and Spartacus
Fantasy and historical drama coverage included Outlander Season 8, its prequel Outlander: Blood of My Blood, and Spartacus: House of Ashur. The event recap included a publicly linked clip or trailer for Blood of My Blood. AP also listed Outlander among Friday’s Hall H presentations.
Star Trek
The weekend brought first looks or trailers for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy and Star Trek: Khan; KPBS included both in its publicly linked trailer roundup. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds also drew attention for a puppet-themed episode.
Alien: Earth, Tron: Ares, and other science fiction
AP reported that Friday’s Hall H presentations included Alien: Earth and Tron: Ares, alongside Predator: Badlands and Outlander. KPBS’s retrospective also covered Tron: Ares and footage from Project Hail Mary. The distinction matters: a Hall H presentation or footage preview does not guarantee that the material was released publicly afterward.

Which SDCC 2025 trailers can you watch?
KPBS’s retrospective linked publicly released trailers and clips for representative titles including Peacemaker Season 2, Gen V Season 2, IT: Welcome to Derry, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, The Strangers: Chapter 2, The Long Walk, Spartacus: House of Ashur, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, Percy Jackson Season 2, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, Star Trek: Khan, and Predator: Badlands.
That list should not be read as meaning every piece of footage shown in Hall H was posted online. Rotten Tomatoes’ July 27 trailer roundup explicitly distinguished publicly available trailers and clips from some Comic-Con footage that remained convention-exclusive. For example, AP described the Predator: Badlands first 15 minutes as an unfinished cut screened for attendees.
How to read the weekend’s biggest announcements
- Public trailer or clip: KPBS identified many promotional videos that viewers could watch outside the convention.
- In-room preview: Some presentations showed footage to attendees, including material identified by AP as an unfinished cut; that does not mean a full public release followed.
- Announcement or first look: Casting, character design, titles, and franchise plans can be meaningful news even when no complete trailer is available.
- Event product slate: DC’s publishing program and Hasbro’s product announcements document what was presented in 2025, not current stock or a guarantee of ongoing availability.
The result was a convention whose headline screen news was spread across genre television, horror, science fiction, animation, and franchise projects, while comics and collectibles supplied substantial news outside the major studio film presentations.
