What is The Flip Off about?
The teams find houses, buy them, renovate them, and put them up for sale. In season one, they tackled renovations room by room, with guest judges critiquing the work. The winner was decided by which flip made the larger profit, and the prize included a paid vacation and bragging rights.
The series mixes renovation decisions with a rivalry rooted in the competitors’ shared history. In an Associated Press interview, Haack said the competition led the participants to “definitely all overspend.” Heather Rae El Moussa joked, “There might have been some spying.” Haack also said of moving past on-camera arguments: “I like making good TV. I think it’s fun.”

Is The Flip Off coming back for season 2?
Yes. HGTV’s 2025–26 programming announcement says the show will return in 2026 with Tarek El Moussa, Christina Haack, and Heather Rae El Moussa. The announcement does not give a specific premiere date or episode count, so neither is confirmed by that official material.
How many people watched season one?
Warner Bros. Discovery reported that the show reached nearly 14 million viewers across linear and streaming in 2025, and described it as HGTV’s highest-rated freshman series since 2022. The company also reported 107 million social impressions and 61 million video views on HGTV social platforms during the show’s run.
