Britt Stewart and Daniel Durant married on August 23, 2025, at Riata Ranch in Santa Margarita, California. PEOPLE reported that 110 guests attended. Their wedding brought together the people and places they valued, with a ceremony beneath a large tree, a greenhouse reception and sign language woven into the celebration.

The couple married on August 23, 2025, at Riata Ranch in Santa Margarita, California. PEOPLE reported a guest count of 110. The wedding coverage published selected photographs and details; Stewart had said beforehand that privacy mattered to them and that they intended to share some moments while keeping others private.
How their relationship began
Stewart, a professional dancer and choreographer on Dancing with the Stars, and actor Durant met as partners on the show’s 31st season in 2022. They placed fifth, and their connection continued after the competition: Durant taught Stewart American Sign Language, while she taught him to dance. They became engaged on December 25, 2023, according to the wedding feature.
A celebration centered on connection
Stewart described the wedding’s theme to Swooon as connection with each other, family, close friends and nature. The ceremony took place under a large tree; afterward, guests gathered for dinner in a conservatory-style greenhouse. The event began with a welcome party mixing garden-party details with an Italian-summer feel, including wood-fired pizza and s’mores. At the reception, signature drinks were named for the couple’s cats.

The couple’s personal details extended to their attire and keepsakes. Stewart wore a Vivienne Westwood gown and jewelry that included her late grandmother’s wedding band. Durant wore a tuxedo from The Black Tux and a ring from his late grandfather. The wedding feature also identified their matching sign-language pendant necklaces as pieces from Deaf-owned company Love Sign.
How sign language shaped the ceremony
Sign language was central to how the couple communicated, and they made deliberate choices about its role during the ceremony. Stewart signed her vows rather than speaking them. Durant’s childhood interpreter signed during the ceremony, but did not interpret his vows; the couple wanted those words to remain his own. Stewart told the wedding feature that she wanted his vows to be fully Daniel, not clouded by another person’s voice.

Accessibility continued at the reception: Stewart said she arranged for friends who interpret music to sign songs for Deaf guests. The couple chose “Forever and a Day” by Benson Boone for their first dance. Their choices reflected their relationship and the guests they wanted to include; they are personal decisions, not a universal template for Deaf or hearing couples.

In advice to couples planning their own weddings, Stewart told the wedding feature not to get caught up in small stresses: she said the essential thing was marrying the person you love.
