Antonio Banderas’ longtime partner is Nicole Kimpel, a Dutch entrepreneur and model. They met at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014, but accounts distinguish that first meeting from the start of their relationship, which followed the end of Banderas’ marriage to Melanie Griffith. Recent coverage through August 2026 still describes Kimpel as his partner.
Who is Nicole Kimpel?
Kimpel is a Dutch entrepreneur and model. Recent coverage in El País describes her as Banderas’ partner of more than a decade and says they live between Málaga and Madrid.
A 2016 Vanity Fair España interview described Kimpel as a graduate in international relations who pursued postgraduate study in finance, specialized in investments and worked for Swiss subsidiaries of Merrill Lynch and Lombard Odier. The interview also reported that she founded an investment-advisory company in 2009. Those are details from that profile, not confirmation of her current employment.
Her twin sister is Barbara Kimpel. Europa FM has reported that the sisters have a fashion and accessories brand called Baniki; that report does not establish the brand’s current products or sales channels.

When did Antonio Banderas and Nicole Kimpel meet?
They met at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014, according to Vanity Fair España. Kimpel recalled that she suggested they stay in touch and revisit the possibility of a relationship once Banderas had resolved his existing marriage. The magazine reported that Banderas and Melanie Griffith announced their separation two weeks after the Cannes meeting.
The meeting and the relationship’s start are not the same event. Europa FM quotes Banderas as saying their relationship began once the divorce papers were in order. The accounts therefore place the beginning of their relationship after the end of his marriage, rather than establishing that they were romantically involved when they first met.

Recent coverage reviewed does not report that they are married. Kimpel has described their commitment in ways that suggest a legal wedding is not necessary to them. In a September 2025 interview with Europa Press, she said, “Si nosotros ya estamos casi casados” (“We are practically married already”). In July 2026, she told La Razón, “Con nuestro amor nos basta” (“Our love is enough for us”). Neither comment announces a wedding.
How does Nicole Kimpel fit into Banderas’ family life?
Kimpel has spoken publicly about Banderas’ daughter, Stella, including Stella’s October 2025 wedding.
