You can use datarhei Restreamer to publish a source to YouTube, but its current YouTube guide does not document a built-in playlist builder or loop switch. To broadcast a Hindi playlist continuously, first make the video source or player repeat the files in your chosen order; then publish that repeating source through Restreamer’s Publication Service with a valid YouTube stream ID. YouTube’s player Loop control only repeats playback for an individual viewer—it does not make a live broadcast loop.
First, identify which “Restreamer” you mean
The name can refer to different products with different looping behavior:
- datarhei Restreamer is self-hosted streaming software. Its YouTube documentation describes publishing a video source through the Publication Service, but does not establish a built-in playlist-loop feature. See datarhei’s YouTube guide.
- Restream cloud’s Upload & Stream is a hosted service for scheduling prerecorded videos and playlists. Its help center says a single prerecorded video can be looped, while playlist looping is not supported. That is a separate product; its limits do not apply to datarhei Restreamer. See Restream’s video-looping help page.
- YouTube’s playlist Loop control repeats a playlist for someone watching in the YouTube player. It does not configure the source of a live broadcast. See YouTube Help’s loop instructions.
Set up a repeating Hindi source for datarhei Restreamer
The key is to separate playlist playback from live publishing. Your source or upstream media setup must play the Hindi files in order and repeat them; Restreamer then sends that source to YouTube. The current datarhei guide does not specify how to build that repeating playlist, so the exact controls depend on the player or source used in your installation.
- Prepare the playlist source. Choose the Hindi recordings and their order. Configure the source/player to play them sequentially and repeat continuously. Confirm that it continues producing audio and video after the last item rather than stopping. Restreamer’s YouTube guide does not provide source-side playlist instructions.
- Create the YouTube live setup. In YouTube’s live-streaming workflow, create or select the live event and obtain its valid streaming ID/key. Treat the key as a secret: do not publish it or include it in public screenshots.
- Configure publication in Restreamer. In datarhei Restreamer, open Publication Service, select or configure YouTube publication as applicable to your installed version, enter the valid streaming ID, and save.
- Start and verify. Start the stream in Restreamer, then check the YouTube live event to confirm that it is receiving the source and that the playlist advances and repeats as intended.
- End the broadcast in the documented order. End the stream on YouTube first. The datarhei guide warns that if Restreamer is interrupted first, YouTube may not save the live stream in the DVR archive.
The datarhei YouTube article is official, but it says it was last updated three years ago. UI details can vary by version and installation, so follow the current controls in your installed version. An older YouTube guide for Restreamer 0.6.x is explicitly marked deprecated and should not be treated as a current walkthrough.

What to do if you meant Restream cloud
Restream cloud’s documented feature is different: its video-looping option applies to a prerecorded video, not to a playlist as a whole. The help page describes up to 10 loops and a maximum 40-hour stream; it labels looping a paid feature. Check the current help and plan details before scheduling because commercial limits and availability can change. Restream: Loop the video of your pre-recorded stream.
For a playlist, Restream’s documented workaround is to duplicate the desired videos within the playlist. Its playlist help page states a maximum of 40 videos and a total playlist duration of up to 24 hours. It lists Upload & Stream add-on tiers called Marathon and Media, with requirements and storage varying by tier. Verify current tier names and limits on the help page before relying on them. Loop a Hindi playlist only for your own YouTube viewing
If you want to replay a playlist on your device rather than broadcast it, use YouTube’s player controls: open the playlist panel and select Loop. YouTube also documents repeat controls for TVs and game consoles. This repeats playback for the viewer; it does not send a continuous live stream to an audience.
Copyright and broadcast checks for a Hindi playlist
Make sure you have the rights or permission needed to broadcast every recording, including its music, performances, footage, and any other protected material. A video being available on YouTube, or a playlist being public, does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it. YouTube may restrict or interrupt a live stream when it detects content that violates its policies or rights. Consider whether your channel adds meaningful context or original value: simply looping other people’s recordings does not guarantee eligibility for monetization under YouTube’s channel policies.

- Check YouTube’s current live-streaming and copyright guidance before going live; requirements and enforcement can change.
- Test the full playlist privately or with an appropriate test event where possible, including transitions and the point where the sequence restarts.
Common problems and fixes
