Larix Broadcaster YouTube Stream Out of Sync: How to Diagnose and Fix It

Find where Larix and YouTube audio/video desynchronization begins, then test the right part of the capture or streaming path without guessing at a universal setting.

First find out where the sync error starts. Compare a local recording or preview with YouTube’s Live Control Room preview, then make one targeted change at a time. If the audio and video are already out of sync locally, focus on the phone, capture inputs, or encoding; if they align locally but not in YouTube’s preview, check the outgoing stream and network path. There is no documented Larix setting or universal millisecond offset that fixes every case.

Why Larix and YouTube can show different timing

Audio and video pass through several stages: the phone’s sensors and encoder, Larix’s buffering, network transport, YouTube’s ingest and delivery, and the viewer’s playback. Larix says its interleaving buffer collects audio and video frames to align them for processing by the receiver, but that does not guarantee every later stage will preserve synchronization. Larix also says it controls only part of the end-to-end latency chain. Softvelum’s Larix FAQ describes a typical interleaving-buffer example of about 16 frames—about 250 ms at 30 FPS. That is an example of buffer behavior, not a universal end-to-end delay or a value to enter as a correction.

Network problems can increase delivery delay. Larix discusses adaptive bitrate (ABR) as a way to respond to delivery problems, but does not describe it as a guaranteed correction for a fixed audio/video offset. The exact phone, operating system, Larix version, audio input, offset direction, and whether the error stays constant or grows all matter to a device-specific diagnosis.

Run a controlled test before changing settings

  1. Make a short private or unlisted test. Use the same phone, audio input, connection, and Larix profile as the affected broadcast. YouTube’s encoder workflow includes a Live Control Room preview before you go live; see YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
  2. Add a visible and audible cue. Clap once in view of the camera so the moment appears on video and is captured in the audio. Compare the clap in the local recording or preview and YouTube’s Live Control Room preview. This is a practical comparison method, not a sync test prescribed by Larix or YouTube.
  3. Write down what happens. Note whether audio leads or trails, whether the offset is steady or gets worse, and where you first see the mismatch: locally, in YouTube’s preview, or only in viewer playback.
  4. Change one thing, then repeat. Keeping the test otherwise consistent makes it easier to tell whether a change helped.

If audio and video are already out of sync locally

Start with the source path, before changing YouTube settings. Check which microphone or audio input Larix is using, and whether an external device or optional audio processing is involved. YouTube advises configuring the audio and video hardware with the encoder, but its instructions do not claim that replacing a microphone or adapter will fix sync. Larix says it uses the system encoder; mobile frame-rate behavior can vary by device and platform. YouTube’s encoder guidance and the Larix FAQ describe these broader setup considerations, not a guaranteed repair.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
  1. For one test, return to the phone’s built-in camera and audio input and remove optional processing.
  2. Make a new local recording or preview and compare the cue.
  3. If the simplified setup is synchronized, reconnect external inputs or processing one at a time and retest. The first change that brings the mismatch back may help isolate the source.

If the mismatch remains with the simplified setup, note the device and app details before seeking support; the available documentation does not identify one universal capture or encoding adjustment for this symptom.

If the local result is aligned but YouTube’s preview is not

Check the encoder connection and outgoing stream. YouTube’s encoder workflow distinguishes the server URL from the stream key and calls for reviewing the Live Control Room preview before going live. Confirm that Larix has the current server URL and stream key for the intended YouTube stream, and that it is sending the intended audio and video.

Next, review Larix’s connection protocol and the network conditions during the test. Larix’s FAQ discusses different buffering behavior for RTMP/RTSP delivery and SRT recovery, and notes that poor network delivery can increase delay. It does not establish that switching protocols, or changing a latency value blindly, is a universal fix. Treat any protocol or connection change as a controlled test and compare the same cue again.

If the mismatch grows during the stream

A growing offset points to timing that changes over time rather than a simple, constant offset. Compare the cue at more than one point and note whether the local recording also drifts, whether the network varies, and whether device load changes. Larix says buffering can increase delivery delay on iOS when ABR is not used and describes ABR options, but does not say ABR corrects all synchronization drift. If you test ABR or a bitrate change, do it to investigate a network-delivery hypothesis—not as a guaranteed sync repair.

Verify the fix before broadcasting publicly

  1. Repeat the short test after each targeted change, using the same cue and setup.
  2. Compare the local result with YouTube’s Live Control Room preview.
  3. Start the public broadcast only when the preview is satisfactory. YouTube’s encoder flow places preview review before the Go live action.

Common mistakes and what to do instead

  • Changing several settings at once: repeat the test with one change at a time so you can identify what affected the result.
  • Assuming ABR fixes every sync error: use it only as a controlled test when network delivery may be involved; it is not documented as a universal correction.
  • Switching protocol or entering an arbitrary delay value: the available documentation does not name a protocol change or a fixed millisecond value as a general Larix-to-YouTube repair.
  • Buying new audio gear before isolating the input path: simplify the setup and test first. A microphone or compatible adapter is worth considering only if testing points to an external audio-input problem; no product is established as a general fix.

When to contact Larix support

If the mismatch persists, send Larix support the details needed to reproduce and narrow it down: phone model, operating system, Larix version, selected audio source, connection type, whether audio leads or trails, and whether the offset is constant or grows. The official Larix FAQ points users to Larix documentation and its helpdesk.
