If the channel is ready, try Streamlabs’ documented workarounds for its YouTube mobile broadcast issue: switch to horizontal orientation or join an existing broadcast with “Active event” instead of creating a new one. If Streamlabs says you are live but YouTube shows no stream, investigate Disconnect Protection instead.
Start with the symptom: connecting, or falsely showing live?
These two situations point to different checks. If the app remains on “Connecting” and never shows a live timer or controls, begin with YouTube channel activation and event setup. If the app shows a live timer, FPS or bitrate, or a Stop control but your YouTube channel has no live stream, check Disconnect Protection.
- Stuck connecting: the broadcast has not established successfully. Check channel readiness, orientation, and whether you are creating a new event.
- Streamlabs looks live, YouTube does not: Streamlabs says this can happen when Disconnect Protection is enabled but the app has not connected to Streamlabs’ servers.
Check that your YouTube channel is enabled for live streaming
If this is the channel’s first live stream, Streamlabs says YouTube requires phone verification and a 24-hour setup period. Repeatedly tapping Go Live will not bypass channel activation. Follow YouTube’s activation flow, wait for the setup period to pass, and then try again. Streamlabs also says an “Invalid Credentials” error can mean the channel is not enabled for live streaming.

Try the workarounds for Streamlabs’ YouTube mobile issue
In a support notice dated September 3, 2026, Streamlabs described cases where creating a new broadcast could create duplicates, a broadcast might never go live even when the device appeared to think it had, or vertical streaming could show an RTMP creation error. Streamlabs said updates over the preceding months should have resolved the issue; it did not specify affected app versions, phones, or account types. For users still encountering it, the notice gives two workarounds:
- Switch to horizontal orientation. If you are trying to stream vertically, try a landscape broadcast.
- Join an existing broadcast. If you have a suitable scheduled or existing broadcast, choose “Active event” rather than “Create event.”
These are workarounds for the issue Streamlabs described, not a guaranteed fix for every connection failure. Read the September 3, 2026 Streamlabs notice.

If Streamlabs says live but YouTube has no stream
Look for signs that the app has started a local live session: a running timer, FPS or bitrate readout, or a Stop control. If those appear while the YouTube channel has no live broadcast, Streamlabs identifies Disconnect Protection as a possible cause when it is enabled but has not successfully connected to Streamlabs servers. Its listed options are to turn off Disconnect Protection or enable Multistream on Streamlabs.com. This is a different failure from an app that remains on Connecting without appearing live.

Review app settings and retry one change at a time
Streamlabs’ mobile guide points to Streaming Settings for video, audio, camera, platform, and advanced settings. Before retrying, close other open apps and confirm camera and microphone permissions if your broadcast uses them. Then change only the setting relevant to the symptom and try again; changing several things at once makes it harder to identify the cause.
For general instability in a location with unreliable internet, Streamlabs describes Network Boost as using more than one connection, such as Wi-Fi and cellular data. Its FAQ identifies Network Boost as a Streamlabs Ultra feature. Streamlabs presents it as connection-reliability support, not a fix for an unactivated YouTube channel, broadcast-creation problems, RTMP errors, or false-live status. It is not the first step for those issues.

If the exact message is “Failed to update YouTube settings,” “Failed to update platform settings,” or “403 Forbidden error,” Streamlabs published a separate notice dated September 8, 2026, marked resolved. When to contact Streamlabs support
If channel activation is complete and the relevant workaround does not help, submit a ticket to Streamlabs support, as its issue notice requests. Include details that let support distinguish an account or event problem from an app connection problem:
- Phone model, operating system, and Streamlabs app version.
- Whether the YouTube channel is enabled for live streaming.
- Whether you were streaming vertically or horizontally.
- Whether you selected “Create event” or “Active event.”
- The exact error text and whether Streamlabs, YouTube, or both appeared live.
Streamlabs’ issue notice directs users with continuing problems to submit a support ticket.
