If a YouTube playlist briefly goes blank between videos in Streamlabs Desktop, first compare the Browser Source preview with the outgoing stream. If both show the gap, check the embedded YouTube player and playlist playback; if only the stream shows it, investigate the scene or source output. Streamlabs does not document a universal setting that guarantees gapless playlist transitions, and enabling autoplay alone does not guarantee that no interval will appear.
Find out where the blank appears
- In Streamlabs Desktop, select the scene containing the playlist’s Browser Source and watch its preview as one video ends and the next should begin.
- Check the actual outgoing stream at the same transition. If needed, make a short private or unlisted test rather than relying on the preview alone.
- If the preview and stream both show the interval, start with the YouTube player and playlist. If the preview looks right but the stream goes blank, inspect the scene and source path instead.
This comparison is a practical diagnostic, not a guaranteed fix. Streamlabs describes scenes and sources as parts of a broadcast, but its general setup material does not identify one defect that accounts for every blank interval.
Check the Browser Source and YouTube playlist
Make sure the source opens the intended playlist
Confirm that the Browser Source is displaying the playlist or playlist embed you intend to play, rather than a single-video page or a different page that stops after one video. YouTube documents embedding playlists, but actual playback can vary with the page and player context. See YouTube’s guidance on embedding videos and playlists.
Check playlist advancement and autoplay
YouTube documents an autoplay=1 parameter for embedded players. The YouTube IFrame Player API also describes playlist playback and player events. These are YouTube player controls, not a Streamlabs setting for removing a transition gap. Browser autoplay policies can block playback, so adding the parameter does not ensure that every setup will advance automatically or transition with no visible interval. Consult the YouTube IFrame Player API reference if you manage the player through the API.

Work through the remaining checks
- Determine whether this is a player transition or a source disappearance. Observe whether the video player remains visible during the interval or whether the Browser Source itself disappears from the scene.
- Recheck the source URL and type. Verify that the scene contains the expected Browser Source and playlist embed, rather than a page that ends after one video.
- Record details before changing several things at once. Note your Streamlabs Desktop version, operating system, exact source URL and type, and whether the interval appears in the preview, the outgoing stream, or both. The available documentation does not establish one cause for all configurations.
- Consider local media only when you have the rights to use it. Playing authorized local copies through a media playlist is a different workflow that may give you different transition controls. It is not a verified fix, and it does not guarantee gapless playback.
What not to expect from Media Share
Streamlabs Media Share is for media submitted through that feature. Its auto-show and auto-hide options are not documented as controls for transitions in a creator’s own YouTube playlist, so it should not be treated as a fix for this problem. See Streamlabs’ Media Share setup guidance.
