There is no independently tested “best” Indian VPS for a continuous prerecorded YouTube stream. Choose a VPS whose data-transfer allowance and overage costs fit the bitrate you plan to send from the exact India region you select, then test the route to YouTube and the real workload. A Mumbai Amazon Lightsail instance is a documented option, but its Mumbai bundles include only half the standard transfer allowance. If you only need to loop uploaded videos on YouTube and do not need to administer a server, StreamNeo is the first cloud alternative to consider: it runs continuously from the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.
What makes a VPS suitable?
The question “Which Indian VPS is suitable for a continuous prerecorded YouTube stream?” depends first on what the server must do. If it relays an already-encoded file, monthly outbound transfer and the route to YouTube matter more than headline port speed. If it must encode or transcode the video, the instance also needs enough compute capacity for that specific file, codec, resolution, and frame rate.
No listed Indian provider was independently tested for sustained streaming, YouTube ingest routing, recovery after a failure, or real-world uptime. Provider specifications and uptime statements are not proof that a VPS will keep a particular stream running continuously.
Shortlist by evidence, not by a “best” label
- Amazon Lightsail, Mumbai: AWS documents region-specific transfer treatment and overage rules, making its allowance easier to evaluate. Mumbai bundles include half the transfer allowance shown for standard bundles, so check the selected bundle carefully.
- Endercloud and VyomCloud: An India-focused comparison page lists Mumbai options and provider-stated specifications. Treat them as leads to verify, not independently tested recommendations.
For either shortlist, confirm the current price, taxes, renewal terms, traffic accounting, continuous-media-use policy, support, and overage charges directly with the provider before paying.

Calculate the stream’s monthly transfer first
Use the bitrate that the server will send continuously, not the VPS port’s advertised speed. A useful estimate is monthly transfer ≈ bitrate in Mbps × 10.8 GB per day × number of days. This is arithmetic using decimal units, before protocol overhead. Leave additional capacity for overhead and any other server traffic.
| Continuous bitrate | Approximate transfer over 30 days |
|---|---|
| 4 Mbps | 1.30 TB |
| 6 Mbps | 1.94 TB |
| 8 Mbps | 2.59 TB |
| 10 Mbps | 3.24 TB |
| 14 Mbps | 4.54 TB |
These estimates are before overhead. A nominal 1 Gbps port describes a possible interface rate; it does not mean the plan includes enough monthly transfer for a constant stream. Compare the calculated amount with the allowance attached to the exact region and plan.

Use YouTube’s encoder guidance to choose a bitrate
YouTube’s live encoder guidance recommends RTMP or RTMPS, constant bitrate encoding, and a two-second keyframe interval; the interval should not exceed four seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted delivery. Supported video codecs listed include H.264, H.265 (HEVC), and AV1, with frame rates up to 60 fps. These are ingest recommendations, not evidence that a given VPS network can sustain the stream. YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance also advises testing before going live and monitoring stream health.
| Output setting | YouTube-recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps, H.264 | 14 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps, H.265 or AV1 | 10 Mbps |
| 720p at 30 fps, H.264 | 8 Mbps |
| 720p at 30 fps, H.265 or AV1 | 6 Mbps |
Use the bitrate appropriate to the codec and output settings you actually intend to send. If the file is already encoded, verify its bitrate and keyframe interval rather than assuming the VPS will alter them. If you encode or transcode on the VPS, verify the resulting output settings and that the instance can sustain encoding in real time.

What to check on an Indian VPS plan
- Confirm the exact data-center region and allowance. Do not assume an India plan has the same quota as the provider’s standard bundle or another region.
- Calculate monthly transfer and add headroom. Include the stream’s continuous outbound data, protocol overhead, and other server traffic.
- Work out overage exposure. Check how the provider measures inbound and outbound traffic, what counts against the quota, and the price for excess transfer.
- Check permitted use and operations. Verify that continuous outbound video is allowed, and ask about monitoring, support, restart behavior, and the route to YouTube ingest.
- Test the real setup before relying on it. Run the intended video at the intended bitrate, resolution, and frame rate; monitor YouTube stream health and check for dropped frames or interruptions.
Why Mumbai Lightsail needs a quota check
AWS says Mumbai Lightsail plans include half the data-transfer allowance shown for standard bundles. AWS counts both inbound and outbound traffic toward the allowance, while charging for excess public outbound transfer. Its current documentation lists Mumbai overage at $0.13 USD per GB; verify the current plan and terms before relying on that figure. AWS Lightsail data-transfer documentation and Lightsail pricing explain the regional treatment and charges.
This makes Lightsail a useful documented example, not an unconditional winner. A transfer quota that is too small can make a seemingly affordable VPS costly for a nonstop stream, and the documentation does not establish that a particular instance will have a reliable route to YouTube.

Relay a ready-encoded file or encode it on the VPS?
Relaying an already-encoded file
When the source video already matches the output you need, the VPS mainly has to read and transmit it. In this case, calculate transfer from the outgoing bitrate and validate the network route. CPU requirements are not equivalent to those of real-time encoding.
Encoding or transcoding on the server
Encoding adds compute demand, and there is no universal CPU recommendation supported for every video and VPS. Before committing to a plan, test the actual source file, codec, resolution, and frame rate on the intended instance. Confirm that encoding completes at least as fast as playback; otherwise the server can fall behind the live output.

Self-managed VPS versus a managed cloud service
A VPS gives you control over the server and streaming process, but you must configure and maintain it, protect the YouTube stream key, monitor the process, and plan for recovery. A managed service can remove much of that administration, but its features and reliability claims remain vendor statements and its plan limits still matter.
StreamZop describes a service that stores uploaded MP4 video, sends it to YouTube, and loops a video or playlist from its cloud servers. Its page advertises a free tier of about one hour per day, paid plans with unlimited hours at specified stream counts and resolutions, and a 99.9% uptime SLA. These are StreamZop’s published claims, not independently measured outcomes; review its terms and limits before choosing it. StreamZop’s service information.

Troubleshooting before you commit
- The transfer estimate is larger than the plan quota: select a plan with more included transfer, reduce the outgoing bitrate if the video can support it, or compare the full cost including overage.
- The VPS has a fast port but runs out of transfer: port rate and monthly quota measure different things. Recalculate total monthly data from the continuous bitrate and check the plan’s regional allowance.
- YouTube reports stream-health problems: verify the encoder protocol, constant bitrate, keyframe interval, codec, and output bitrate; test the stream and inspect the actual route and server load.
- The stream falls behind while encoding: test the exact workload on the chosen instance. Encoding capacity depends on the source and output settings, so do not infer it from a plan name alone.
- A provider’s uptime or “unlimited” claim seems decisive: ask what the claim covers, how transfer is measured, what continuous-use restrictions apply, and how interruptions are handled. No comparative independent reliability result is established for the listed India VPS options.
