For a standard stereo YouTube livestream, set OBS streaming audio to AAC, 128 kbps, and 44.1 kHz. Hindi music does not call for a special bitrate in YouTube’s published live-encoder guidance. To repeat a track, add it as an OBS Media Source and enable Loop, then test the sound and check YouTube’s stream health before relying on the setup.

Set OBS audio for a stereo YouTube stream

  1. In OBS, open Settings → Output and find the streaming audio bitrate controls. Their exact labels and layout can vary by OBS version and output mode. In Simple mode, use the streaming output controls; Advanced mode lets you configure stream and recording settings independently. OBS’s streaming output guide describes the modes and controls.
  2. Set the streaming audio encoder to AAC and its bitrate to 128 kbps. YouTube’s live encoder guidance recommends 128 kbps for stereo audio. AAC is a practical option; OBS documents it as its default, widely supported audio codec. YouTube also lists MP3 as a supported live audio codec. YouTube’s live encoder settings
  3. Set the audio sample rate to 44.1 kHz for stereo. Check the audio settings used by the stream, not just a separate recording configuration.

Why 128 kbps is the right target here

OBS’s general streaming overview suggests around 160 kbps, or a lower setting when upload speed is limited. That is broad guidance; YouTube gives a platform-specific recommendation of 128 kbps for stereo. For this YouTube stereo setup, use YouTube’s 128 kbps target rather than treating the two figures as competing universal rules. OBS streaming guidance · YouTube live encoder guidance

The published YouTube settings distinguish stereo from 5.1 surround, not Hindi from other languages or one music genre from another. This does not mean every recording will sound identical at the same bitrate: the source and listening test still matter. The cited live settings specify 384 kbps and 48 kHz for 5.1, but a typical stereo music loop does not need the extra channel-layout complexity.

Loop a Hindi music file in OBS

  1. In the OBS scene you will use for the stream, add a Media Source and select the local audio file.
  2. In the Media Source properties, enable Loop. OBS supports audio inputs including MP3, AAC, OGG, and WAV; the source restarts when playback reaches the end. OBS Media Sources documentation
  3. Play the scene and listen through the end of the track into its restart. Check that the transition is acceptable and that playback does not stop unexpectedly.

Test before going live

Make a test using the actual audio and representative stream content. Listen to a representative passage and the loop transition, then check YouTube’s stream health while the test is running. YouTube recommends testing with audio and representative motion and monitoring stream health during the event; OBS also advises testing before a first live stream. A bitrate value by itself cannot guarantee that a particular recording will sound good or play without interruption. YouTube live encoder settings · OBS streaming output guide
