If a video ends in Restream without repeating, first identify how you added it. In Restream Studio, turn on Loop in that video’s playback controls. For a scheduled pre-recorded single-video event, set its loop count when creating or editing the event. A scheduled playlist cannot loop as a playlist; duplicate its entries in the desired order instead. If the entire broadcast went offline, check the incoming stream connection rather than the video’s loop setting.
First identify what stopped
- Only the video ended: use the loop setting for the Studio video source or scheduled event.
- A scheduled sequence ended: check whether it is a playlist; Restream says playlists do not support playlist looping.
- The destination live stream went offline: investigate a disconnected RTMP/SRT input or the event’s scheduled end. That is different from a video reaching its end.
Restream documents these as separate workflows, so the right fix depends on whether you are using a Studio media source, a scheduled pre-recorded event, a playlist, or an incoming stream. See Restream’s Studio video instructions, pre-recorded video looping instructions, and playlist instructions.
Turn on Loop for a video in Restream Studio
Studio video sources have their own playback controls. Restream documents the loop control for both videos from Restream storage and local videos.
For a video in Restream storage
- Add a scene in Restream Studio and choose Media, then Video.
- Select a video from Restream storage, or upload one.
- Open the video’s playback controls and switch on Loop. The video should restart when it reaches the end.
Only one video from storage can play at a time. See Restream’s instructions for playing videos in Studio.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For a local video
- Add a scene in Studio and choose Media.
- Select the plus icon, choose Local video, and open the file.
- Open its playback controls and enable Loop.
Restream says local video is free for all users, recommends Chrome, and notes that local playback performance depends on the computer. If playback stutters or the device struggles, try a video from Restream storage instead. Details are in Restream’s local-video instructions.
Check the output quality separately
A lower-quality preview does not necessarily mean the outgoing Studio stream has been reduced; Restream says the preview may be lower quality for performance while the outgoing stream retains the video’s original quality. However, Studio output settings matter: a 4K source sent through a 720p stream may be reduced. Match the source to your intended output settings. See Restream’s Studio video guidance.

Set a loop count for a scheduled pre-recorded event
A scheduled pre-recorded event is a recorded video broadcast as a live stream at a selected time. It is not the same as a Studio source or a multi-video playlist.
- Choose Pre-recorded livestream when scheduling the event.
- Select Video, choose or upload the file, and enter the event details.
- Enable the optional loop count and choose the number of plays. Restream documents a maximum of 10 plays.
- Schedule the event. It airs automatically at the selected time.
Restream’s current help article lists its Marathon and Media add-on plans for scheduled-video looping. If the loop option is missing, check the account’s current plan and the controls shown in your account; plan names and feature availability can change. The help article was published March 11, 2026: Loop the video of your pre-recorded stream.

Edit the loop count after creating the event
- From the Home screen, open the event’s three-dot menu and choose Edit event.
- Edit the event date/time settings, including the loop count.
- Save the changes, then check the event card for the displayed loop quantity.
Some destinations, including TikTok or Instagram, may require you to click Go Live on the destination platform after Restream starts the broadcast. See Restream’s scheduled-event instructions.
Work around playlist looping limits
Restream says playlists currently do not support looping as a playlist. To repeat a sequence, duplicate its entries in the order you want before the playlist goes live. For example, arrange A, B, C, A, B, C to play that sequence twice.

- A playlist can contain up to 40 video entries and run for up to 24 hours.
- Playlist items can be added, removed, or reordered only before the playlist goes live.
- Restream lists playlists under its Upload & Stream Marathon or Media add-on tiers.
For a playlist that contains A, B, and C, add repeated copies in sequence until you reach your intended duration or the entry limit. If you need to mix live and pre-recorded segments, Restream points to Studio video sources rather than a playlist. See Restream’s playlist instructions.

A video ending is not the same as an RTMP/SRT source disconnecting. Restream’s disconnect protection can play a fallback video during a source drop, but it must be configured before going live and requires a Business or custom Enterprise plan.

- In Restream, configure disconnect protection before the broadcast and select a 5-, 15-, or 30-minute fallback window.
- If the input disconnects, Restream plays a fallback video; its default fallback is described as a 17-second video that loops during the selected window.
- If the source reconnects during that window, the fallback stops and the live feed resumes.
- If the source does not reconnect before the window ends, the destination streams end and you must start a new stream.
Disconnect protection is not the Studio video’s Loop control. See Restream’s disconnect-protection setup guide. For a scheduled event, also check whether the event reached its configured end. Restream’s help pages do not identify an individual account’s cause, so do not assume a particular bug or outage without account-specific evidence.
Check the uploaded file if a scheduled event will not play correctly
Restream’s mandatory requirements for pre-recorded uploads are MP4, MOV, M4V, or MKV container; H.264 video; AAC audio; and a keyframe interval of 2. It recommends Full HD 1080p at 30 or 60 FPS, constant bitrate where appropriate, and a bitrate suited to the destination platform. Restream also recommends adding 15–20 seconds at the beginning and end to give destinations time to process the incoming stream. These recommendations concern upload and performance; Restream does not say that missing an optional recommendation disables looping. See Restream’s pre-recorded video requirements.
Common symptoms and fixes
| Symptom | Likely workflow or check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Studio video plays once, then stops | Studio media source | Open its playback controls and switch on Loop. |
| Scheduled video plays once | Pre-recorded event loop count | Edit the event and set a loop count, up to 10; confirm the account plan supports the feature. |
| Several videos play once in order | Scheduled playlist | Duplicate entries in the desired sequence before going live; playlist looping itself is unsupported. |
| The live destination goes offline | RTMP/SRT input or scheduled event end | Check the source connection and event timing. Configure disconnect protection in advance if eligible. |
| Local video stutters or struggles | Device/browser performance | Try Chrome or use a video from Restream storage. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep a YouTube channel live with uploaded videos, StreamNeo is a separate option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It supports video as uploaded up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the monthly option is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera.
