October 2025 brought new series and returning seasons to Apple TV+, Prime Video and Netflix, alongside documentary picks for viewers who prefer real-life stories. This is a selective retrospective, not a complete release calendar or an objectively ranked “best” list. Dates below are the announced premiere dates; catalogs and availability can vary by country, so check your local service listing.
Notable October 2025 series on Apple TV+
- The Sisters Grimm — October 3: A new series highlighted on the October streaming calendar.
- The Last Frontier — October 10: A new series highlighted on the October streaming calendar.
- Loot, season 3 — October 15: A returning comedy series. Apple’s October archive lists the season’s date.
- Down Cemetery Road — October 29: A new series highlighted on the October streaming calendar.
A documentary-series pick: Mr. Scorsese
Premiering October 17, Mr. Scorsese is a five-part documentary series by Rebecca Miller about Martin Scorsese. It draws on archival material and interviews with his family, friends and collaborators, making it the clearest fit here for documentary viewers. The date appears in Apple’s October archive; the series description is reported by Tom’s Guide.
Prime Video’s October 2025 picks
- Maintenance Required — October 8: Amazon describes this romantic comedy as a story about Charlie, an independent owner of an all-female mechanic shop whose business faces a corporate competitor.
- The Chosen Adventures — October 17: An animated children’s series about Abby and Joshua in Capernaum, according to Amazon.
Prime Video documentaries and films
These are documentary films, not TV series, so they belong in a separate watchlist rather than among the show premieres.
- John Candy: I Like Me — October 10: Amazon’s documentary about the actor includes archival footage, imagery and interviews with people who knew him.
- Saquon — October 9: A feature-length documentary following Saquon Barkley’s journey to Super Bowl glory with the Philadelphia Eagles.
A trilogy finale, not a new series: Culpa Nuestra (Our Fault)
Amazon listed Culpa Nuestra for October 16 and describes it as the final chapter of the Culpa trilogy. It is a film entry, rather than a new TV series.

What to know about Netflix’s October 2025 shows
Netflix’s Tudum published a 2025 series guide dated October 16, 2025. It provides announced-title descriptions and dates for Netflix’s slate, but it is a year guide rather than a complete October-only schedule. The material available for this guide does not establish a specific Netflix October title and premiere date to recommend with the same confidence as the Apple TV+ and Prime Video picks above, so it would be misleading to invent one or treat the year guide as an October calendar.
