Best Mini PC for Running a 24/7 Church Sermon Stream to YouTube

An Intel N100 mini PC can be a sensible starting point for a modest church OBS stream, but published specs do not prove 24/7 reliability. Learn how to choose, configure and test it.

The Beelink Mini S12 Pro with an Intel N100 is a practical starting point for a church running a straightforward, fixed-scene OBS stream to YouTube. Beelink lists a configuration with 16 GB of memory, a 500 GB SSD and gigabit Ethernet, while Intel lists Quick Sync Video on the N100 for hardware encoding. But no cited source establishes that this mini PC has been tested or certified for uninterrupted 24/7 streaming. Treat it as a candidate to test—not a proven always-on solution.

If you need the YouTube stream to continue without a computer running at the church, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It plays uploaded video, not a live camera feed. For a live-camera sermon, use the OBS setup below.

Which mini PC should a church consider first?

Start by shortlisting an Intel N100 mini PC such as the Beelink Mini S12 Pro, provided your production is modest: one or a small number of sources, uncomplicated scenes, and an output resolution and frame rate that the complete setup can sustain. This is a recommendation based on published specifications, not a head-to-head test or a 24/7 reliability certification.

Intel lists the N100 as a four-core, four-thread processor with a maximum frequency of 3.40 GHz, 6 W TDP, Intel UHD Graphics and Quick Sync Video. Intel also lists a maximum memory size of 16 GB. Beelink’s product page lists an N100 Mini S12 Pro configuration with 16 GB DDR4, 500 GB storage and 1 Gbps LAN. Check the exact SKU and current seller listing: memory, storage, ports, operating system and warranty can vary.

Quick Sync can move video-encoding work from the CPU to a specialized graphics component, which may help reduce CPU load. It does not establish that the machine can handle several cameras, demanding overlays, local recording and nonstop operation together. OBS cautions that a compatible system is not necessarily capable of streaming or recording; requirements vary with encoder, resolution, frame rate and scene complexity.

How to choose a mini PC for your church’s stream

There is no supported universal winner: the sources do not compare mini PCs under a shared long-duration church-stream workload. Choose based on the actual production rather than processor name alone.

What to check Why it matters
Hardware encoder and OBS encoder Confirm the chosen OBS encoder can use the machine’s hardware encoder, then test it under your real scene load.
Resolution, frame rate and scene complexity More demanding output, transitions, overlays and capture sources change the encoding workload. Set a target your system can sustain rather than choosing settings by aspiration.
Memory and storage Verify the exact installed configuration. Local recording needs storage beyond what a stream-only setup may require.
Wired network and measured upload Prefer stable Ethernet and measure available upload capacity at the church. YouTube says available upload must exceed the total stream bitrate and recommends 20% headroom.
Cooling, warranty and serviceability Ask the seller or manufacturer about these factors; the cited specifications do not establish continuous-duty thermal performance or service expectations.
Backup and recovery Plan how power, internet or encoder failure will be handled. Test any backup connection or equipment rather than assuming it will take over correctly.

Set up OBS and YouTube for a dependable service

1. Match the output to the service and connection

Choose resolution and frame rate based on your cameras, production and measured upload, then configure the encoder accordingly. YouTube’s English encoder guidance, accessed October 3, 2026, recommends H.264 ingest at 5 Mbps for 1080p30 or 6 Mbps for 1080p60. These are platform recommendations, not proof that a particular mini PC can encode those settings continuously.

YouTube specifies constant bitrate (CBR) and recommends a two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. It recommends RTMPS, which encrypts the connection to Google’s servers. YouTube supports multiple ingest formats and frame rates up to 60 fps; use the format and settings appropriate to your encoder and actual stream, not simply the highest available option. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions.

2. Connect and configure the stream

  1. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and open its Live Control Room. Select the encoder workflow and copy the stream key into OBS. Treat the key like a password: do not show it on screen or share it publicly.
  2. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube as the service, and connect the account or enter the stream key. Use the RTMPS server option if it is available in the selected workflow.
  3. In Settings > Output, select the intended encoder and set bitrate control to CBR, the bitrate appropriate to the chosen resolution and frame rate, and the recommended two-second keyframe interval. Available encoder names and settings depend on the operating system, OBS version and hardware.
  4. In Settings > Video, set the output resolution and FPS you intend to send. Configure any scaling deliberately, and check that the resulting stream matches YouTube’s selected event settings.
  5. Build and test the real service scene: camera or capture-device sources, audio from the mixer or interface, overlays and transitions. Check audio levels and lip sync, and confirm that video and sound reach the Live Control Room preview.

3. Test the full service workflow before relying on it

  • Measure upload capacity on the church’s actual wired connection at the time and place the stream will run. YouTube recommends 20% headroom beyond the total primary and backup stream bitrate where applicable; other network use can reduce what is available to the encoder.
  • Test with representative speech, music, movement, scene changes and the actual audio path. YouTube advises testing with audio and movement similar to the live stream.
  • Review the YouTube Live Control Room preview, stream health and any encoder messages. Confirm both picture and audio before going public.
  • Test backup power, network or encoder failover if your plan depends on it. Confirm that any local archive is growing as expected.
  • For an event, YouTube’s tips advise setting up at least two hours ahead and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes early. Monitor audio and video quality continuously during the stream. YouTube warns that a connectivity disruption can break a stream. See YouTube’s streaming tips.

Can an N100 mini PC run OBS?

An N100 system has a relevant feature: Intel lists Quick Sync Video, and OBS explains that hardware encoding can reduce CPU load by using a specialized GPU component. That makes an N100 mini PC plausible for a modest OBS setup; it does not answer whether a particular unit, scene and connection will work reliably for a church’s full service or around the clock.

Run a sustained test of the complete setup for the duration and conditions you expect to use. Watch OBS for encoding or rendering overload, dropped frames and audio problems; check YouTube’s stream health as well. Test the real camera sources, overlays, recording settings, room temperature and network. OBS requirements and processor specifications are not substitutes for that test. See OBS Studio’s system requirements and OBS’s hardware-encoding guidance.

Common problems and what to check

  • Dropped frames or unstable stream health: Check wired-network stability and upload capacity first. Reduce the stream bitrate if available upload cannot sustain it, and leave YouTube’s recommended headroom.
  • Encoder overload or choppy video: Check OBS’s selected encoder, output resolution and FPS, then simplify scenes or reduce output demands. Hardware encoding can help with CPU load, but does not guarantee sufficient capacity for a complex production.
  • Video works but audio is missing or out of sync: Confirm the intended mixer/interface or capture-device source is selected, check OBS meters and connections, and repeat the test with representative speech and music.
  • YouTube preview does not appear: Verify the stream key and encoder connection, confirm the event is open in Live Control Room, and inspect YouTube’s stream-health messages before starting the service.
  • Stream stops after a power or internet interruption: Check whether the PC, router and modem stayed powered and whether the connection returned. Test the recovery procedure and any backup path before depending on it during a service.

Copyright and YouTube policy checks for sermon streams

A church service may include more than spoken sermon content: worship music, recorded tracks, lyrics, film clips, images or other third-party material can create rights issues. Confirm that the church has the necessary permissions for each element in a livestream and any retained recording. Do not assume that owning a physical copy or using a short excerpt automatically clears online streaming rights.

Also review YouTube’s current live-stream requirements and policies for the channel and content you plan to broadcast. Keep records of permissions, and check the Live Control Room for any restriction or claim notice during testing. Platform settings and encoding compliance do not grant copyright permission.
