What is disputed about the film’s account?
Johnson’s account is politically contested. ABC News reported that Planned Parenthood said the film promoted “falsehoods…distortions and incorrect depictions about healthcare.” In the same report, Planned Parenthood officials said: “We ensure that patients receive accurate information about all of their options so they can make their own, fully informed decisions about their health, their family, and their future.” These statements represent the organization’s response, not a neutral adjudication of every scene in the film.
The sources give different attributed figures for Johnson’s work history, and neither should be treated as an independently verified statistic. The official film website says she was involved in “upwards of 22,000 abortions,” while Johnson told ABC News in 2019 that she facilitated “another 20,000” during her career at the clinics. The wording and attribution differ; the numbers should not be combined or generalized to abortion care overall.

How long is the film, and what should viewers expect?
The American Film Institute lists Unplanned as R rated with a 106-minute runtime. ABC News described the film as containing graphic depictions of the abortion procedure. Viewers deciding whether it is suitable for them or a group should account for that content.

Where can you watch or read Unplanned?
The official film website advertises DVD, Blu-ray, and streaming, but current streaming services and regional availability are not established here. Its link to an Amazon order page for Johnson’s memoir makes Unplanned Abby Johnson book the clearest title-specific way to find the source memoir.
