Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo live stream on LinkedIn, first make sure your profile or Page can access LinkedIn Live, schedule a LinkedIn Live event, then broadcast to it using a supported third-party tool or a custom RTMP/RTMPS encoder such as OBS. LinkedIn no longer supports spontaneous go-live: as of October 3, 2026, you must schedule an event, although you can schedule it only minutes before you start. Test the feed in Live Studio and click Go Live only when you are ready to broadcast publicly.
1. Check whether your profile or Page can use LinkedIn Live
LinkedIn evaluates access using several criteria. Its eligibility guidance says a member or Page with more than 150 followers and/or connections may be evaluated if the account or Page is at least 30 days old, is in good standing under LinkedIn’s Professional Community Policies, and is not based in mainland China. Meeting these criteria does not guarantee access. LinkedIn says there is no separate application: create a LinkedIn Live event or connect through a preferred broadcast tool to trigger the review. If LinkedIn Live is missing from the event-format choices, access may not yet be available.
These thresholds are from LinkedIn Help guidance last updated in 2025, so check LinkedIn’s current eligibility page before making plans around them.
2. Choose the destination before scheduling
A LinkedIn Live broadcast can appear on a member profile, a LinkedIn Page, or an Event. A single stream can target only one destination; choose where the intended audience should find it before you schedule.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Profile: Use this when the broadcast belongs on an individual member’s profile.
- Page: Use this for an organization’s LinkedIn presence. The person facilitating the stream needs the appropriate Page admin role; LinkedIn’s Zoom setup guidance specifies super admin or content poster.
- Event: Use this when you want a scheduled event page for promotion and attendee conversation.
Review the organizer, event type, and event format before posting. LinkedIn says these cannot be changed after the event is posted.
3. Schedule the LinkedIn Live event
Create the event through LinkedIn or through the broadcast tool you plan to use, and select the LinkedIn Live format and destination. Since June 22, 2026, LinkedIn has required scheduled events instead of spontaneous go-live. A scheduled event can be created just minutes before the intended broadcast, but scheduling earlier gives you a page to share and a place for attendees to gather.
There is no direct broadcast-from-LinkedIn option. You will need a third-party broadcast tool or an encoder that sends a custom RTMP/RTMPS feed to LinkedIn.

4. Choose a broadcast workflow
| Workflow | Best suited to | Setup | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Third-party broadcast tool | Newer broadcasters who want a guided workflow | Connect LinkedIn in the tool, choose a destination, and schedule the event | Confirm the tool supports your selected LinkedIn destination and the features you need |
| Custom RTMP/RTMPS encoder | Advanced broadcasters and production teams | Prepare the event in Live Studio, then copy its stream URL and key into encoder software | Check encoder settings, region, key timing, and the Live Studio preview |
LinkedIn identifies Restream, Socialive, StreamYard, and Switcher Studio as preferred broadcast partners. Features and destination support vary by tool, so confirm what your chosen service currently supports. For a custom stream, LinkedIn supports RTMP and RTMPS and names OBS, Elemental, and Zoom as possible encoder options.

5. Set up a custom RTMP/RTMPS stream
- Open the scheduled event in Live Studio. Go to Manage streams and select Prepare to go live.
- Choose the region and generate credentials. Select the region, then choose Get URL to generate the stream URL and key. LinkedIn’s instructions say this control becomes available one hour before the scheduled start for unverified profiles and Pages, and two hours before for verified Pages.
- Enter the URL and key in your encoder. In OBS or another encoder, select the custom RTMP/RTMPS streaming option and paste the URL and key into the server and stream-key fields. Treat the key as a credential: do not publish it or share it with viewers.
- Apply LinkedIn’s recommended production settings. The May 2026 LinkedIn Events Broadcast Producer’s Guide recommends the following for its production workflow:
| Setting | LinkedIn recommendation |
|---|---|
| Aspect ratio | 16:9 |
| Resolution | 720p |
| Frame rate | 30 fps |
| Video codec | H.264 |
| Video bitrate | 3.5 Mbps |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds (60 frames at 30 fps) |
| Audio codec | AAC |
| Audio bitrate | 128 kbps |
| Audio sample rate | 48 kHz |
| Maximum stream length | 4 hours |
These are recommendations in LinkedIn’s May 2026 guide, not a guarantee that every encoder uses identical labels or defaults. Check the current encoder controls and LinkedIn’s current guidance before a high-stakes production.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview. Begin sending the feed, then confirm that it appears correctly in Live Studio. LinkedIn’s custom-stream guide says you can start up to 15 minutes before the scheduled time or up to two hours after it.
- Go live from Live Studio. Check the picture, sound, captions, and stream health. The preview is not the public broadcast. Click Go Live only when the feed is ready for viewers.
- End the stream cleanly. Select End Stream in LinkedIn, then stop the encoder.
6. Run a test before the public broadcast
LinkedIn’s 2026 producer guide recommends using a test event to validate the connection and adjust encoder settings without broadcasting to the intended audience. Before the actual event, verify that:

- The correct profile, Page, or Event is selected.
- The encoder is sending a signal and Live Studio shows the expected video.
- Speech is clear and the audio level is present without distortion.
- Captions appear if you plan to use them.
- The stream health indicators do not show a connection problem.
- The host knows when to click Go Live and how to end the stream.
LinkedIn’s broadcaster-features guidance says real-time automatic captions are supported for livestreams created through LinkedIn API partners when the audio is in English. Availability depends on the tool and its current integration, so verify captions in the test rather than assuming they will be present.
7. Follow LinkedIn’s content and accessibility guidance
LinkedIn advises broadcasters to keep content professional, avoid presenting prerecorded material as live, avoid promotional streams, and stream for at least 15 minutes. Plan the broadcast as an actual live program, even when using a production team or a scheduled event page.
LinkedIn Lives are public and recorded. The replay remains on the profile or Page feed as a previously recorded live video, so avoid sharing private or sensitive material on the assumption that the broadcast will disappear when the event ends.

8. Troubleshoot common setup problems
LinkedIn Live is missing from the event options
Access may not be available yet, or the profile or Page may not meet LinkedIn’s evaluation criteria. Check account age, follower or connection count, good-standing status, and location; then trigger an eligibility review by creating an event or connecting through a preferred tool.
The stream URL or key is not available
Confirm that you opened the correct scheduled event in Live Studio and that the scheduled start is within the credential-generation window: one hour before for unverified profiles and Pages, or two hours before for verified Pages. Check that the selected region is appropriate before generating the URL and key.
The encoder is sending, but Live Studio has no usable preview
Check that the encoder has the correct stream URL and key, that it is using RTMP or RTMPS as configured, and that its output follows LinkedIn’s recommended video and audio settings. Restarting the encoder after correcting the destination details can help establish a fresh feed; verify the preview before selecting Go Live.

The broadcast cannot start at the expected time
Check that the event was scheduled, that the encoder is running, and that the feed is visible in Live Studio. For custom streams, LinkedIn’s stated start window allows the host to begin up to 15 minutes early or as late as two hours after the scheduled time.
The audience cannot hear the host
Check the selected audio input and encoder audio output, then verify AAC audio at the recommended 128 kbps and 48 kHz sample rate. Listen to the preview during a test event before the public broadcast.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a separate service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos; it does not send a broadcast to LinkedIn and cannot replace the LinkedIn workflows above. To use it for a YouTube stream, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the loop running without a computer or home connection staying on. It streams uploads as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month.
