Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The best Restream alternative depends on what you need beyond sending one broadcast to several platforms. Choose StreamYard for a browser studio and guest interviews, OBS Studio for free local production control, Castr for video hosting and embeds, OneStream Live or Livepush for scheduled and pre-recorded broadcasts, and Switchboard Live for organizational distribution. If your goal is instead to keep pre-recorded video running as a 24/7 YouTube stream, StreamNeo is the relevant cloud option: it loops uploaded videos without leaving a computer on.
Start with the job you need the service to do
Restream combines multistream distribution with a browser studio. Its listed Free, Standard, Professional, and Business tiers currently show limits of 2, 3, 5, and 8 concurrent channels, respectively, with custom arrangements for Enterprise. The pricing page also lists encoder integrations such as OBS and Zoom, custom RTMP destinations, cross-platform chat, stream health monitoring, cloud recording, and a browser Studio. These are Restream plan details displayed as of October 3, 2026; confirm the live plan page before choosing because limits and features can change. Restream pricing plans
Alternatives do not all replace the same parts of Restream. Before comparing plans, decide whether you need distribution, production, scheduled video, permanent playback, hosting, or team control.
- Destinations: Which platforms must receive the broadcast simultaneously, and how many?
- Production: Do you need browser-based scenes and guest links, or do you prefer to control scenes and encoding on your own computer?
- Format: Is this a live-only broadcast, or do you also need scheduled/pre-recorded streams, 24/7 playback, recordings, video-on-demand hosting, or an embeddable player?
- Operations: Will one person run the stream, or do you need team permissions and management across many destinations?
- Plan details: Compare the tier that covers your real destination count and recording or storage needs—not just a starting price.

1. StreamNeo — for uploaded video on a 24/7 YouTube stream
StreamNeo keeps a YouTube channel live around the clock by looping videos uploaded to its cloud service. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It is not a browser production studio or a multistream destination relay: it plays uploaded videos to YouTube, and does not stream camera input.
Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode and no quality tiers. You can choose a day, week, month, six months, or year; the product is the same on every plan, with only the billing length changing. The first day is free with no card, once per account. UPI and cards are accepted in India; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support.

2. StreamYard — for browser-based production and guest interviews
StreamYard is described as a browser studio for guest, overlay, and multistream workflows. It is a closer fit than local encoder software if you want to produce a show in a browser and bring guests in through links. Its destination counts, recording terms, and prices depend on the current plan; check StreamYard’s plans and pricing rather than relying on older comparison figures. 3. OBS Studio — for free, local production control
OBS Studio is desktop software, not a cloud relay. It can fit creators who want local control over their production; multistreaming may require a plugin or separate outputs. In that setup, your computer and internet connection do more of the work than with a cloud distribution service. You will need to configure destinations and manage stream keys, and should account for computer load and upload capacity for your specific encoding setup. No universal hardware or bandwidth threshold applies across all configurations. Get OBS from the official OBS Project site.
4. Castr — for multistreaming alongside video hosting and embeds
Restream’s comparison describes Castr as combining multistreaming with video-on-demand hosting and cloud recordings, and says a third-party encoder is required. It also discusses embeds and destination limits that vary by tier. That comparison comes from Restream, not Castr; verify the current encoder requirements, plan limits, hosting, and embed terms directly with Castr before committing. Restream’s comparison guide

5. OneStream Live or Livepush — for scheduled and pre-recorded broadcasts
Restream’s comparison describes OneStream Live as supporting live and pre-recorded streaming, scheduling, and embeds. Livepush describes scheduled and pre-recorded streams and a hosted player. These are vendor-published descriptions, so check the providers’ current destination counts, player behavior, and plan conditions. Livepush labels its listed prices approximate; treat them as estimates rather than guaranteed current prices. Restream’s comparison guide · Livepush comparison
6. Switchboard Live — for agency and organizational distribution
Comparison sources position Switchboard Live for agencies and professional teams managing many destinations. Upstream’s alternatives article reported unlimited RTMP/RTMPS destinations and plan prices checked in June 2026. That is a dated report from another vendor in the category, not a current Switchboard quote; confirm destination terms, pricing, and team controls with Switchboard before relying on them. How to choose without overpaying or losing a needed feature
- Count simultaneous destinations. Start with the platforms that must receive the same broadcast at once. Restream’s displayed tier limits are 2, 3, 5, and 8 channels for Free through Business, with custom Enterprise arrangements, as shown October 3, 2026. For other providers, check the current tier rather than assuming the headline plan is enough.
- Choose where production happens. A browser studio is useful for guest shows and overlays; OBS offers local scene and encoder control but requires managing the computer, configuration, and stream keys. A relay service and a production studio solve different parts of the workflow.
- Separate live delivery from video operations. If you need scheduled prerecorded video, 24/7 playback, cloud recordings, VOD hosting, or embeds, confirm that exact feature and its limits. Do not treat “multistreaming” as proof that a service supports each of these.
- Check team and recovery requirements. For agency use, verify permissions, destination management, and support with the provider. For continuous playback, check what happens after a dropped platform connection and whether recovery is included in the plan.
- Compare total fit, not just price. Include destination count, recordings or storage, required encoder or plugin, team controls, and the amount of local setup your workflow requires. Plan values change, so use the provider’s current pricing and feature pages before purchase.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you are choosing an alternative because you want prerecorded video to keep a YouTube channel live, StreamNeo avoids the need to leave a home computer or connection running. Upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It streams the uploaded file as made up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and gives the first day free with no card. The monthly plan is $9.99 per month. This is for YouTube playback of uploaded video, not camera livestreaming or multistream distribution. Start your free first day with StreamNeo.
