There is no single best cloud multistreaming service for every YouTube creator. For a browser-led show with guests and a few mainstream destinations, compare StreamYard and Restream Studio. If you already produce in OBS or another encoder, Restream or Castr can relay that feed to multiple platforms. Castr stands out when you need documented custom RTMP/SRT outputs, stream-health monitoring, or an embedded player. If your goal is different—keeping prerecorded video on YouTube around the clock—StreamNeo is the relevant option: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud rather than distributing a live camera or encoder feed.

What cloud multistreaming does—and what it does not

A cloud multistreaming service receives one live contribution feed and forwards it to several selected destinations. That can spare your computer and internet connection from sending a separate outgoing stream to every platform. Restream documents feeds from software such as OBS, while Castr describes a single feed fanned out to connected destinations. The platforms still handle their own playback, so a service’s destination count does not guarantee identical quality, latency, or chat behavior everywhere.

These products are for distributing a live show. They are not interchangeable with a service that continuously plays uploaded recordings as a 24/7 YouTube stream. StreamNeo serves that latter use case, not camera-based live production or multistreaming to other platforms.

Which service fits your workflow?

Service Best fit Workflow and notable capabilities Published destination limits
StreamNeo Keeping uploaded video running as a 24/7 YouTube stream Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops the uploaded material in the cloud; it is not a multistream relay for a live camera or encoder feed. One always-on YouTube stream per slot. It does not offer destinations on other platforms.
StreamYard Browser-first production for creators who want a studio and a modest number of destinations Browser studio with built-in multistreaming on paid plans. Destinations are selected when creating a live stream; custom RTMP can connect services without a direct integration when they accept an RTMP feed. Help Center lists 3 destinations on Core, 8 on Advanced, and 10 on Business. Multistreaming is paid-plan-only.
Restream Creators choosing between a browser studio and an existing encoder workflow Supports third-party software such as OBS as well as its browser Studio. Official materials also describe cross-platform chat, guest invite links, Upload & Stream for recorded videos, and custom RTMP. Its pricing FAQ says the free tier lets users select 2 of 30+ social channels. Paid limits depend on plan; check the current plan details.
Castr Encoder-led workflows that need custom endpoints, monitoring, or website playback Accepts an RTMP, SRT, or WHIP encoder feed and fans it out. Its page documents custom RTMP/SRT outputs, an embedded player, stream-health monitoring, and analytics. Transcoding and adaptive bitrate are listed for Premium and higher. 6 on Starter, 10 on Standard, 20 on Premium, and 30 on Ultra and Events. Castr says these counts are across the account; higher counts may be available on request.

These figures and feature descriptions come from the vendors’ official materials, accessed October 3, 2026. Plan names, included features, and destination limits can change; confirm them on the linked current plan or help pages before subscribing.

Choose by production style, not just destination count

Choose a browser studio for a show built in the browser

StreamYard or Restream Studio is the natural shortlist if you want to compose a show in a browser rather than maintain a desktop encoder scene collection. Restream describes guest links for up to 10 participants in its pricing FAQ; verify current plan conditions. StreamYard’s multistreaming Help Center confirms paid-plan destination limits, but its exact guest and seat allowances should be checked against current plans.

StreamYard’s Help Center lists paid-plan multistreaming at 3 destinations on Core, 8 on Advanced, and 10 on Business. StreamYard’s vendor-authored 2026 article describes its browser studio and cloud distribution of a camera and microphone feed; treat its comparative characterizations as the company’s view, not independent testing.

Keep your encoder when scenes or hardware are already part of production

If your show is built in OBS or another encoder and you want to keep that setup, use a service that accepts the encoder feed and relays it. Restream documents support for third-party streaming software such as OBS; Castr documents RTMP, SRT, and WHIP encoder inputs. The relay can reduce the need to send a separate local output to each destination, but it does not remove the need for a stable connection between your encoder and the relay.

Prioritize custom endpoints, monitoring, or an owned player

Castr’s published feature set most directly addresses these needs: custom RTMP/SRT outputs, stream-health monitoring, analytics, and an embedded player for your site. Its destination count is account-wide, so compare the number against all outputs you need, not just one show. For Restream and StreamYard, confirm the current plan’s endpoint support and the limits that apply to your intended workflow.

Check the plan’s actual simultaneous-output rules

A headline maximum does not by itself establish how a service counts destinations. Confirm whether the limit applies per show, per account, or to a particular plan, and whether each destination you need is supported directly or through custom RTMP. Castr explicitly says its count is account-wide; StreamYard’s and Restream’s feature limits vary by plan.

What the published limits mean in practice

StreamYard: paid multistreaming, with plan-based counts

StreamYard’s Help Center lists 3 destinations on Core, 8 on Advanced, and 10 on Business, and says multistreaming is available only on paid plans. Its destination guidance explains that destinations are selected while creating a live stream and that custom RTMP may be used for services without a direct integration if they accept an RTMP feed. Each destination can require its own permissions and setup.

Restream: free selection of two channels; verify paid limits

Restream’s pricing FAQ says users can select 2 of 30+ social channels on the free tier. It also describes support for third-party streaming software and custom RTMP. The same FAQ lists 1080p Studio streaming on the Professional plan; that is a Restream Studio plan detail, not a universal resolution guarantee for every destination or every encoder workflow. For custom software, Restream says it imposes no resolution restriction, while destination platforms may still impose their own limits.

Castr: higher published counts and encoder-oriented features

Castr lists 6 destinations on Starter, 10 on Standard, 20 on Premium, and 30 on Ultra and Events, counted across the account. Its page also describes custom RTMP/SRT outputs, embedded playback, monitoring, and analytics. Transcoding and adaptive bitrate are listed for Premium and higher. Confirm the tier’s current feature bundle and destination limit before deciding.

StreamNeo: a different answer for an always-on prerecorded channel

StreamNeo does not multistream a live show. It is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload a recording or make a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the loop running without a computer, OBS, or home connection staying on. If that is the actual problem you are solving, it is a more relevant choice than a multistreaming relay.

How to set up a cloud multistream

  1. Confirm YouTube live access and current requirements. Check YouTube Help for your channel’s eligibility and current live encoder instructions before scheduling a broadcast. This comparison does not specify YouTube bitrate, codec, resolution, frame-rate, latency, or eligibility figures; those requirements should be verified against YouTube’s current guidance.
  2. Pick a production path. For browser production, choose the service’s Studio and configure its camera, microphone, guests, and show elements. For an encoder-led show, connect OBS or another supported encoder to the relay using the service’s current setup instructions.
  3. Connect YouTube and each other destination. Add the YouTube channel and any other platforms you need. Where no direct integration exists, use a custom RTMP destination only if that platform accepts it. Follow each service’s authorization and destination setup steps.
  4. Check the exact number of simultaneous outputs against your plan. Count all intended destinations and check whether the published cap is per account or per show. Do not assume a supported platform is automatically included in your plan or available as a simultaneous output.
  5. Run a private or unlisted test where appropriate. Check video and audio at YouTube and each destination, and confirm that the stream title, visibility, and destination-specific settings are correct. A relay does not make destination processing or playback behavior identical.
  6. Monitor the live show at both ends. Watch the encoder-to-service feed and the destination playback. If one platform fails while others continue, inspect that destination’s connection and settings rather than assuming the entire relay has stopped.

Because encoder and YouTube requirements can change, use the current service setup guide and YouTube Help for exact settings rather than relying on generic bitrate or resolution figures.

Cost and plan checks before you commit

  • Compare the plan that includes the number of simultaneous destinations you need, not just the advertised service maximum.
  • For browser production, account for guest, studio, and production features that matter to your show, as well as multistreaming access.
  • For encoder-led production, confirm custom endpoint availability, protocols, monitoring, recording, and any account-wide destination accounting.
  • Restream’s pricing FAQ states its free tier allows selection of 2 of 30+ social channels. It identifies Studio streaming in 1080p on Professional; check the current plan page because plan names and limits are volatile.
  • StreamYard’s referenced Help Center lists paid multistreaming destination counts, but the sources used here do not establish its plan prices. Castr’s referenced page lists destination tiers, but prices were not established here. Check each vendor’s live pricing before purchase.
  • Cloud distribution can reduce the number of separate outputs your local connection must send, but it does not guarantee a particular quality or uptime at each destination.

YouTube settings, copyright, and recorded material

YouTube’s encoder settings and channel eligibility rules are separate from a multistreaming service’s own limits. Consult YouTube Help: Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for current encoder guidance, and check YouTube’s current live-streaming rules for your channel. Do not infer that a relay’s resolution support overrides YouTube’s requirements.

Before broadcasting, make sure you have the rights to the video, music, and other material in the show, and review YouTube’s copyright and monetization policies. A tool that forwards or loops media does not grant permission to use it. Likewise, the fact that a recording can be sent as a live stream does not by itself establish that the channel meets YouTube’s reused-content or monetization requirements.

Common problems and fixes

YouTube is not available as a destination

Check that the correct YouTube account or channel is connected and authorized, and that the channel can go live under YouTube’s current rules. If the service uses a stream key or a custom endpoint, verify that you selected the correct destination and entered the current key or URL as directed by its setup flow.

One destination is missing while the others are live

Check that the destination is connected, selected for this broadcast, and within the plan’s simultaneous-output limit. Reauthorize the platform if permissions have expired, and inspect any custom RTMP URL or key for that destination.

The encoder does not connect to the relay

Confirm that the encoder is configured for the service’s current ingest method and that its server address, protocol, and stream key match the service dashboard. Check the encoder’s outgoing connection and test without changing multiple settings at once.

Playback differs between platforms

Compare each destination’s playback and status independently. Destinations process streams separately, and a service’s supported resolution does not guarantee that every platform will show the same quality or latency. Verify each platform’s current ingest requirements.

A desired endpoint is not listed as an integration

See whether the service and destination support a compatible custom RTMP or SRT connection. Castr documents custom RTMP/SRT outputs; Restream and StreamYard describe custom RTMP options. Compatibility depends on what the destination accepts, so confirm its current connection requirements.

Or let it run in the cloud

If you want prerecorded videos to keep a YouTube channel live 24/7 rather than multistreaming a live production, StreamNeo handles that different job. Upload your video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; each slot streams what you uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price regardless of quality. It can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the monthly option is $9.99 per month. Start your free StreamNeo day.
