Yes. You can livestream a Zoom Webinar to YouTube if webinar livestreaming is enabled for your Zoom account, the host has a Webinars license, YouTube is an allowed destination, and your YouTube channel is eligible to go live. Zoom supports selecting an enabled YouTube destination and configuring a custom streaming service with YouTube’s stream URL and key.
Before you configure the webinar
Check Zoom account access
Ask the Zoom account owner or administrator to open Account Management → Account Settings → Webinar, turn on Allow livestreaming, and enable YouTube among the permitted services. Zoom identifies Pro, Business, or Enterprise accounts as the plans for changing this account setting. The host also needs a Zoom Webinars license. The setting may be locked at the account level, so an individual host may not be able to change it.
- If livestreaming is unavailable, first ask the administrator whether it is enabled and whether YouTube is permitted.
- Confirm that the person hosting the webinar has a Webinars license. A Zoom Meetings setup alone does not establish that the host can livestream a webinar.
Confirm YouTube channel eligibility
YouTube requires a verified channel and no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours. Check eligibility before the event day; a Zoom configuration cannot bypass a YouTube restriction or activation delay.
In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live event, choose its privacy setting, and have the stream URL and stream key ready for the person configuring Zoom. Keep the event’s watch page URL available as well if you use Zoom’s custom-stream route.

Choose a Zoom-to-YouTube route
| What to compare | Enabled YouTube destination | Custom streaming service |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | An administrator enables webinar livestreaming and allows YouTube; the host selects the configured YouTube destination. | The organizer enters the stream URL, stream key, and live streaming page URL in the scheduled webinar’s Live Streaming tab. |
| Credentials | Use the destination Zoom makes available; do not expose stream credentials in public instructions. | Requires copying the stream URL and key accurately and keeping them private. |
| Resolution controls | Available controls depend on the current Zoom configuration; check the preview and delivered result. | Zoom’s documented custom workflow offers 720p Standard HD and 1080p Full HD choices. Availability of a selectable option does not guarantee that every account, network, or event will deliver that resolution. |
| Good fit | A straightforward setup when account policy allows the supported YouTube destination. | A custom destination or streaming service that supplies stream credentials. |
Configure and start the YouTube livestream
Route A: select YouTube as an enabled destination
- Have the Zoom administrator enable Allow livestreaming and YouTube in the webinar account settings.
- Open the scheduled webinar’s livestream configuration and choose the enabled YouTube destination. Zoom’s interface labels can change, so use the current webinar settings rather than relying on an old click sequence.
- As host, start the webinar. Use the host livestream control to start streaming and select the configured destination.
- Check the YouTube preview and watch page before asking attendees to move to YouTube.
Route B: configure a custom streaming service
- In YouTube Studio, open the scheduled live event and copy its stream URL, stream key, and live streaming page URL. Do not share the key publicly.
- In the scheduled Zoom webinar, open the Live Streaming tab and configure Custom Live Streaming Service with the stream URL, stream key, and page URL.
- Select a resolution offered in that custom workflow, such as 720p Standard HD or 1080p Full HD, if appropriate for the event and connection.
- Save the configuration ahead of time. Zoom says the host can start the custom livestream after the webinar begins.
- Start the webinar as host, open the Livestream control, and choose Live on Custom Live Streaming Service. If it was preconfigured, a browser window will show Zoom preparing the stream.
- Wait for the YouTube preview, verify audio and video, and confirm the watch page is accessible before sharing it with the audience.
Protect the stream key
A YouTube stream key tells an encoder where to send a feed and allows YouTube to accept it. YouTube describes keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Treat the key as a password: share it only with people configuring the broadcast, do not put it in a public event page or message, and reset it if it is exposed or compromised.
Preflight the stream and monitor it live
- Set up early. Leave time to resolve account permissions, channel eligibility, and destination configuration before attendees arrive.
- Check the Live Control Room preview. Confirm that the event is receiving the intended feed and that the watch page is reachable.
- Test speech and representative motion. Listen for clear dialogue and check that moving footage looks acceptable; a still image alone will not reveal motion-related problems.
- Check upload capacity. YouTube advises allowing about 20% upload-bandwidth headroom beyond the stream’s total bitrate. Treat this as guidance for the sending connection, not a Zoom-specific bitrate setting.
- Monitor stream health during the webinar. Keep an eye on YouTube’s audio and video indicators and the preview rather than assuming a successful start means the whole event is healthy.
YouTube’s encoder guidance is for separate encoder workflows, not a set of required values for Zoom’s native YouTube destination. For reference, YouTube Help lists a recommended 14 Mbps for H.264 at 1080p and 30 fps (accessed 2026; the page does not display a publication date). Do not treat that figure as a universal Zoom setting.

Troubleshooting
YouTube is missing from Zoom’s livestream choices
Ask the Zoom account owner or administrator to confirm that Allow livestreaming is enabled and YouTube is among the permitted services. Check whether the account-level setting is locked, and verify that the host has a Webinars license. Resolve account access before troubleshooting video quality.
YouTube will not accept the stream
Check that the channel is verified, has no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days, and has completed first-time live activation. If live streaming was just enabled, allow up to 24 hours. For a custom route, recheck the copied stream URL, key, and page URL against the intended YouTube event.

The YouTube preview does not appear
Confirm that the webinar host started livestreaming to the intended destination and, for a custom stream, selected Live on Custom Live Streaming Service. Verify that the scheduled YouTube event is the one whose credentials were entered, then check the Live Control Room preview and stream health.
The picture or sound is poor or intermittent
Check the sending connection’s available upload capacity against the total outgoing bitrate, leaving YouTube’s recommended approximate 20% headroom. Test audio and representative movement before the event and monitor stream health during it. If using the custom workflow, remember that a 720p or 1080p selection is not a guarantee of delivered quality on every network.

Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos, not for sending a live camera feed or a live Zoom webinar. For a prerecorded documentary or other uploaded program, upload the recording, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops it from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and the first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
