Then, if you also want to remove its recording, delete the live archive separately in YouTube Studio. Removing a playlist item does not delete the playlist; deleting the archive is permanent.
Remove the stream from the playlist
- Open the YouTube playlist that contains the LiveReacting stream.
- Select More beside the stream.
- Choose Remove from [PLAYLIST NAME]. This removes that item from the playlist; it is not a command to delete the playlist.
If you cannot see the removal control, check that you are signed in to an account with access to manage that playlist and channel.
Choose what to do with the YouTube archive
Removing the playlist entry and changing or deleting the live-stream recording are separate actions. Decide whether you want to retain the recording before changing its settings.

Make the live stream private or unlisted
In YouTube Studio, go to Content > Live, open the stream’s details, change Visibility to Private or Unlisted, and save. Choose the setting that matches your intended audience: unlisted is not the same as private. This changes access to the archive without deleting it.

Delete the live stream archive
In YouTube Studio, go to Content > Live and open the stream’s details. Choose More > Delete, confirm Delete forever, and save. YouTube states, “When you delete a video, it’s permanently deleted.” Save a backup first if you might need the recording later.
What happens to the playlist entry after deletion?
Remove the item from the playlist before deleting the archive if your priority is to clear the stream out of the playlist while keeping the playlist itself. YouTube’s help explains playlist-item removal and archive deletion as separate operations, but does not specify exactly how a playlist displays an entry after its video is deleted. Do not rely on the old entry or thumbnail remaining visible.

Does this also delete the LiveReacting event?
These steps apply to the YouTube playlist and YouTube live archive. YouTube’s instructions do not establish whether removing or deleting those items changes a separate LiveReacting event record. If that record matters, check the current LiveReacting interface or help material rather than assuming the YouTube action removes it.
Archive and access notes
- YouTube Help says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived and warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. If you need a recording, check whether an archive exists before relying on deletion or visibility controls.
- The YouTube controls described here require access to the channel’s playlist and archive. If the options are missing, verify that the signed-in account has the necessary channel access.
