No. A YouTube Premiere is a scheduled, shared first viewing of an uploaded video, not an all-day continuous broadcast. When the video finishes, the Premiere ends and the video remains on your channel as a regular upload. For continuous playback, use YouTube’s separate live-stream format instead.
What happens during a YouTube Premiere?
A Premiere gives a finished video a scheduled event page. Viewers can visit the page in advance, set reminders, and chat. When it begins, a countdown runs and viewers watch the video together. They can rewind during the Premiere, but cannot skip ahead past what has been shown live. YouTube’s Premiere guidance says that after the video premieres, it stays on the channel as a regular upload; the Premiere does not become a repeating broadcast.

YouTube’s tips present Premieres as a way to build anticipation and shared audience interaction around a scheduled video upload. That makes the format suitable for a communal first viewing of a nature film, not for keeping scenery on screen throughout the day. YouTube Premiere tips
Premiere or live stream: which fits your goal?
| Question | Premiere | Scheduled live stream |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | A one-time, shared first viewing of a finished video | Broadcasting media in real time, including a continuous nature-video feed |
| What viewers see | A scheduled page, countdown, shared playback, and chat | An upcoming stream that becomes a live broadcast |
| How playback ends | The Premiere ends when the uploaded video finishes; the upload remains on the channel | The broadcast ends when the stream session ends; the cited guidance does not guarantee unlimited duration or uptime |
| Relevant controls | Scheduling, countdown, and Premiere chat | Live-stream scheduling and encoder settings, including a stream key and stream URL |
YouTube describes live streams as media broadcast in real time and documents separate scheduling and stream configuration controls. See Learn about live streams and Manage live stream settings.

How to choose and set up the format
For one scheduled viewing of the complete nature video
- Upload the finished video to YouTube.
- Choose the Premiere option when scheduling the video, then set its start time and prepare the watch page.
- Share the page so viewers can set reminders and join the chat.
- Describe it as a scheduled first viewing. It ends when the video finishes; after that, the upload remains available as a regular video.
For continuous or all-day playback
- Open YouTube’s live-stream tools in YouTube Studio and schedule a live stream rather than a Premiere.
- Configure the stream using YouTube’s live-stream settings. If you are sending video through an encoder, use the stream URL and stream key shown in those settings.
- Arrange the video source and broadcast operation for the period you want to run. Do not promise uninterrupted, unlimited playback based on the format alone; review YouTube’s current limits, archiving, and DVR behavior.
- Check the live stream’s viewing and replay behavior separately from a Premiere. YouTube says DVR may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. This is a warning about viewer rewind, not a stated Premiere duration limit. Turn on DVR on live streams
Limits and uncertainties to keep in mind
The official guidance cited here does not state a maximum Premiere duration or confirm that the same video can be scheduled as back-to-back Premieres. It also does not guarantee unlimited continuous live-stream playback. Treat those points as unresolved rather than assuming that a long video or repeated Premiere schedule will create an all-day channel loop.
Premiere monetization
For eligible channels, YouTube says pre-roll ads can run during a Premiere, while mid-roll and post-roll ads are unavailable during it. Super Chat and Super Stickers may be enabled before and during a Premiere, subject to eligibility. See Customize your Premiere.
