You can send prerecorded exam lessons to YouTube Live through an encoder that plays the files as its video and audio feed. First confirm your channel can livestream, create or schedule a broadcast in YouTube Live Control Room, connect an encoder with the stream details, and check the preview and stream health. This is a practical setup—not blanket approval that every continuous prerecorded format is permitted or eligible for monetization. Rights, YouTube policies, and any applicable Indian requirements still matter.
What you need for a continuous lesson stream
- A YouTube channel with live streaming access.
- Prerecorded lesson files and an encoder that can play them as the outgoing video and audio feed.
- A broadcast created or scheduled in YouTube Live Control Room, plus the stream details needed to connect the encoder.
- Rights to use all of the material in the files, including any third-party elements.
- A plan to monitor stream health and respond to warnings or interruptions.
YouTube’s documentation distinguishes the event viewers watch (a broadcast) from the video feed sent to YouTube (a stream). An encoder transmits that feed; the API documentation explains that streams can be bound to broadcasts and describes ingestion configuration such as RTMP or HLS. These developer details explain the model, but do not guarantee a particular 24/7 prerecorded setup. Google for Developers: Understanding Broadcasts and Streams and LiveStreams API documentation.
How do I stream prerecorded exam lessons on YouTube Live 24/7 in India?
- Check live access. In YouTube Studio, confirm that your channel can livestream before preparing a public schedule. If access is unavailable, resolve the channel’s eligibility or access issue first; an encoder cannot bypass it.
- Prepare and review the lesson files. Confirm that playback includes the intended picture and sound, and check the complete files for third-party content. Keep records of licenses or permissions where relevant.
- Create or schedule the broadcast. Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or schedule the event viewers will watch. Plan its title, description, and schedule so students can identify the class and find the correct watch page.
- Connect the encoder. Enter the stream details from the Live Control Room into your encoder and select the prerecorded lesson playback as its media source. The encoder sends that playback as the live video/audio feed. The specific encoder product, hardware, and settings depend on the setup; the official sources here do not establish one required product or configuration.
- Check before sharing the event. Use the Live Control Room preview and stream-health indicators to confirm that video and audio arrive as expected. Resolve visible warnings before directing students to the broadcast.
- Monitor the stream while it runs. Watch for stream-health changes and copyright or policy notices. If YouTube interrupts the feed, investigate the notice and the relevant source material before restarting or continuing.
Choose a format students can use
One continuous broadcast
A continuous channel can make a sequence of lessons available through a single live experience, but students may find a specific topic harder to locate unless the schedule and lesson order are clear. Decide how files transition and how you will handle a stopped feed or a change in the planned sequence.
Separate scheduled lesson broadcasts
Individual events can make a particular class and its time easier to identify. They require more event management than one ongoing broadcast. The official sources cited here explain the broadcast-and-stream model but do not provide a full feature comparison between continuous streams, scheduled videos, or Premieres; choose based on whether students need a continuous channel experience or distinct class events.

Clear rights before going live
YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to have the rights needed to exploit live and archived content on Google services, including relevant music rights, and to comply with applicable law. YouTube also requires live content to comply with its Community Guidelines. See YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions.
Review the full lesson package, not only the teacher’s narration. Depending on what a file contains, that may include slides, diagrams, question-bank excerpts, music, animations, and third-party video or audio. Permission to teach a subject does not by itself establish permission to reproduce a publisher’s questions, graphics, or recordings. The rights status depends on the material and the permissions that apply to it.

What happens if YouTube detects third-party content?
YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. A match may lead to a placeholder image and a warning; if the content remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. If you have licensed third-party material, YouTube advises asking the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license alone may not prevent an automated interruption. Details: Copyright issues with live streams.
Copyright permission and monetization are separate questions
Having permission to use material does not guarantee that a channel will be monetized. YouTube’s reused-content policy is separate from copyright enforcement and applies at the channel level. It addresses repurposed content that lacks significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value. A channel review can therefore assess monetization separately from whether a creator owns or has licensed the material; the outcome for a particular channel cannot be predicted from the policy alone.

Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | What to check | Practical next step |
|---|---|---|
| The event does not appear as live | Whether live access is enabled, the broadcast is correctly created, and the encoder is connected to the intended stream details. | Verify access in YouTube Studio and compare the encoder’s selected stream details with those shown for the event in Live Control Room. |
| Preview has no picture or sound | Whether the encoder is using the intended file playback and sending both video and audio. | Check the media source and output in the encoder, then verify the preview again before sharing the event. |
| YouTube displays a copyright warning or placeholder | Whether a file contains matched third-party material, including music or clips, and whether the rights holder has allowlisted the channel when needed. | Follow the notice, review the affected material and permissions, and contact the rights holder about allowlisting if you have a license. |
| The feed is interrupted or terminated | Live Control Room notices and stream health, as well as any unresolved third-party-content match. | Address the stated issue before resuming; do not assume that simply restarting resolves a rights or policy problem. |
| Content is permitted but monetization is uncertain | Whether the channel’s overall output meets YouTube’s monetization policies, including rules on reused, repetitive, or mass-produced content. | Review the channel-level policy and make sure lessons provide substantial original teaching or other meaningful value; permission alone does not decide monetization. |
