There is no documented direct import from Restream into Gyre. To move a prerecorded YouTube playlist, keep the original video files, record the playlist order and stream details, then upload or import the files into Gyre and rebuild the playlist there. Authorize the correct YouTube channel, test the new setup, and switch streams only after checking the destination in YouTube Studio.
Before you move the stream
Save the files and document the setup
Restream builds its playlist from video files in its library. Before changing services, keep a copy of every original file outside Restream and write down the playlist order. Restream says an airing playlist cannot be edited while it is live, so do not rely on making last-minute changes during playback. See Restream’s playlist guide.
- Record the title, description, tags, thumbnail, privacy setting, intended start time, and any stream-specific settings.
- Check whether graphics, captions, chat setup, or analytics need to be recreated. Their portability between Restream and Gyre is not established in the available setup documentation.
- Confirm you have rights to rebroadcast the video, audio, images, and any third-party material in every file. Moving a file to a different service does not grant broadcast rights.
Check YouTube access and eligibility
Use the Google account that owns the YouTube channel when authorizing Gyre. Restream’s connection guide says the account connecting a YouTube channel must be its owner. It also describes phone verification and a 24-hour wait after first enabling live streaming; treat that as guidance from Restream, not a guarantee of your channel’s current status. Check the channel’s live eligibility in YouTube Studio before planning the change. See Restream’s YouTube connection guide.
Check plan features before uploading
Gyre’s September 2026 setup guide reports that its scheduler is available on trial, Start+, and PRO+ plans, but not Start. Plan features can change, so check Gyre’s current plan details and the features shown in your account before relying on scheduling. No India-specific pricing, tax, currency, or payment-method details are established here; check the current official account and checkout information.

Rebuild the playlist in Gyre
- Sign in to Gyre and choose YouTube. Start a new setup for the channel you intend to use; do not assume your Restream playlist or event carries over.
- Authorize the channel. Sign in with the Google account that owns it and grant the requested live-broadcast access. Gyre’s September 2026 API update describes channel authorization that can create a broadcast and bind a stream key. The guide also describes manual stream-key setup as an alternative. Follow the current prompts in your Gyre account.
- Upload or import the source files. Add the original videos to Gyre’s storage, then create a new playlist in the same order you recorded from Restream. Neither service’s retrieved documentation describes a direct Restream-to-Gyre playlist import. Do not assume captions, graphics, event details, or other service-specific settings will come with the files.
- Re-enter the stream details. Set the title, description, tags, thumbnail, privacy, and schedule in Gyre, then verify each field. The available documentation does not establish that Restream metadata or an existing YouTube live event transfers automatically.
- Review and test playback. Inspect Gyre’s file report and preview where available. Test with an appropriate visibility setting and verify the video, audio, playlist order, title, and destination channel before a public switch. This is an operational safeguard, not a documented migration test mode or a promise of zero downtime.
- Start or schedule the new stream, then coordinate the changeover. Check the intended event and stream status in YouTube Studio. Stop the Restream broadcast when your transition plan allows; avoid sending overlapping streams to the same event unless you have confirmed the setup and the audience experience you want.
Gyre says its playlist restarts when it reaches the end. Its setup guide recommends at least one hour of video and ideally three to five hours; that is Gyre’s recommendation, not a YouTube requirement. See Gyre’s prerecorded-stream setup guide.

Restream limits are not Gyre limits
Restream’s playlist guide describes limits for Restream’s Upload & Stream feature: playlists can contain up to 40 video entries and run for up to 24 hours, and the video list cannot be edited during playback. Its separate overview says scheduled prerecorded videos can replay up to 10 times. These are Restream-side details, not limits or loop settings for Gyre. Check the current Restream pages for your account’s available features: playlist guide and Upload & Stream overview.
