To upload a recorded video from a cyber café, open YouTube Studio on its computer, sign in to your own Google account, and choose Create → Upload videos. Select the file, add its details, set visibility, and wait for the transfer to finish. “Uploading” a recording is different from broadcasting live; the two have separate steps and eligibility rules.
Before you go to the cyber café
- Ask the operator whether file uploads and Google sign-in are allowed. Café policies, filters, computer setup, and internet quality vary; YouTube’s guidance does not establish rules for individual cafés in India.
- Make sure you can access the video file on the café computer. A USB flash drive is one option, but YouTube does not require one; use any transfer method the venue permits. Keep another copy of the video if possible.
- Bring your Google account credentials and access to any verification method you may need. Do not hand your password or verification code to café staff.
- If the video is longer than 15 minutes, check your channel’s verification and feature eligibility before the session. YouTube says verified accounts can upload longer videos; its verification steps may depend on whether your mobile operator supports Google texts or calls. See YouTube’s account verification guidance and feature access guidance.
Upload the recorded video in YouTube Studio
- On the café computer, open YouTube Studio and sign in to your account.
- Select Create, then Upload videos.
- Select the video file. YouTube’s upload interface allows up to 15 videos at a time.
- Enter the video details and choose its visibility. Uploading transfers the file to YouTube; publishing makes it available to viewers. If you close the upload window before choosing visibility, YouTube says the item is saved as private. Review the YouTube upload instructions for the current Studio flow.
- Keep the page open while the file transfers. Then allow YouTube to process it, and check in Studio that processing is complete and the visibility setting is what you intended before leaving.
- Sign out of Google and remove the video file if you copied it onto the shared computer. These are prudent shared-device precautions, not special YouTube upload requirements.
Long videos, file limits, and upload time
YouTube’s listed maximum is 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less. Account verification is needed to upload videos longer than the default 15-minute limit. YouTube also says to use an up-to-date browser for files larger than 20 GB. Consult its long-video upload limits guidance for these platform limits.
There is no reliable upload-time estimate for a particular cyber café: its connection speed and conditions are unknown. YouTube says processing time varies with factors such as the video’s quality, length, format, and traffic; HD and 4K files can take longer to process. Leave enough time to confirm that the upload and processing have completed before you leave. If a file exceeds YouTube’s maximum, its guidance suggests H.264 compression, but that does not guarantee a particular transfer-time saving or output quality.
If the upload does not work
- The file will not select or transfer: Check that it is accessible on the computer, that the café permits uploads, and that the browser and computer can handle the file. Try another venue-approved transfer method if needed.
- The file is too large or the video is too long: Check the 256 GB-or-12-hours limit, whichever is less; verify the account for a video over 15 minutes; and use an up-to-date browser for a file over 20 GB.
- The video is still processing: Processing varies with quality, length, format, and traffic. Keep the session open if you can, and do not assume that a completed file transfer means processing is finished.
- You cannot complete verification: Make sure you can access the account’s verification method before using the café computer. YouTube notes that some mobile operators may not support its verification texts or calls.
- The video appears private: Check visibility in Studio. If the upload window was closed before visibility was chosen, YouTube says the video is saved as private.
If by “stream video” you mean going live
A recorded upload sends an existing file to YouTube; a live stream broadcasts in real time. YouTube’s live-stream requirements are separate: the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, and the person live streaming must be at least 16 years old. See YouTube’s live-streaming guidance.

YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder, and console as ways to stream. At a café, first confirm that the operator permits live broadcasting and that the computer has any capture equipment you need. The connection must also be reliable enough for the broadcast, but the official guidance cited here does not specify a minimum speed for this particular setting.
