Advanced Scene Switcher can schedule OBS actions for particular dates and times, but it does not schedule edits to a YouTube channel playlist. If you want your live stream to show different prepared content at different hours, set up scenes or media sources in OBS and use the plugin’s Macro Schedule feature to trigger the appropriate OBS actions. To change which videos are in a public YouTube playlist or their order, manage that playlist in YouTube Studio instead.
First, decide what you mean by a scheduled playlist change

The distinction matters for documentary channels: a scheduled transition between a film, a short break screen, and another film can be part of the OBS live output. It is not the same thing as changing the playlist visitors see on your channel.
What Advanced Scene Switcher does
Advanced Scene Switcher is an OBS automation plugin built around macros: lists of conditions and actions. Its project describes macros as “a list of conditions under which a list of actions will be performed.” The project’s release history says version 1.34.0 added a Macro Schedule tab to make it easier to schedule macro actions at a given date and time.
The OBS Project Forums resource listing currently reports Advanced Scene Switcher version 1.36.1, support for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and OBS Studio 31.1.1 as the minimum OBS version. These are changeable compatibility details, so check the official OBS resource listing and project release history before installing or updating.

OBS scenes combine sources, such as media, into the output sent to a stream. That makes a scene change one possible way to switch scheduled content. The OBS guide explains scenes and sources in its OBS Studio overview.
Prepare scheduled content in OBS
1. Map the schedule before building scenes
Write down the times, the content that should appear, and any transition or waiting screen between items. For example, a documentary stream might show Film A, a holding card, and then Film B. Decide whether each block will be represented by its own scene or handled by a media source action in an existing scene. The right arrangement depends on your OBS project.

2. Build and check the scenes or media sources
In OBS, create the scenes and add the media sources needed for each scheduled block. Check that each scene displays the intended video and that the source is available to OBS. Use OBS’s scene and source concepts to organize the live output; do not treat these as entries in your public YouTube playlist.
3. Install a compatible plugin version
Download Advanced Scene Switcher from its official OBS resource or project release page. Confirm the release’s OBS minimum-version requirement and platform support against your installation. The listing currently gives OBS Studio 31.1.1 as the minimum and names Windows, macOS, and Linux; version requirements can change.

Schedule OBS actions with Macro Schedule
Use Advanced Scene Switcher’s Macro Schedule capability to arrange macros for the intended dates and times. A macro should perform an OBS action that matches your setup—for example, changing to a prepared scene or operating a relevant media/source action. The exact macro conditions, action choices, and schedule fields depend on the installed plugin version and project configuration.
The official release history establishes that Macro Schedule is intended to schedule macro execution at a date and time, but the available documentation does not establish a verified, universal sequence of current UI clicks or field names. Use the plugin’s current interface and documentation for the exact controls rather than relying on assumed labels.

- Open Advanced Scene Switcher in OBS and locate its Macro Schedule capability.
- Create or select a macro that performs the intended OBS action for the scheduled block.
- Set the relevant date and time in the schedule interface for that macro, following the controls shown by your installed version.
- Repeat for each scheduled transition, including any waiting-screen interval you want to show.
- Test the schedule in your own OBS setup before depending on it during an unattended broadcast.
This workflow schedules OBS output. It does not make Advanced Scene Switcher add, remove, reorder, or edit videos in YouTube Studio.

Run a controlled check in OBS before using the arrangement for a live broadcast. Confirm that the intended macro runs at the intended time, the expected scene or source appears, and transitions happen in the right order. If the stream is live while you test, remember that the OBS output is what viewers receive; use a private or otherwise appropriate test setup if you do not want the check to appear publicly.

Do not assume that a schedule will be correct simply because its entries look right. Confirm the behavior with your scenes, sources, plugin version, and operating system, especially after changing any of them.
Troubleshoot common scheduling problems
- The YouTube playlist did not change: Advanced Scene Switcher schedules OBS actions, not YouTube Studio playlist edits. Make playlist membership or order changes in YouTube Studio.
- The wrong content appears: Check which scene or source the macro action targets and verify that the prepared OBS scene contains the intended media.
- A scheduled transition does not happen as expected: Review the macro and date/time entry in the installed plugin interface, then test again in your OBS setup. The exact controls can vary by version.
- The plugin is unavailable or incompatible: Compare your OBS version and operating system with the current Advanced Scene Switcher resource listing and release information before installing or updating.
- A transition is missing between videos: Add a dedicated waiting scene or other planned interval to the OBS arrangement and schedule the corresponding action, then verify the sequence in a controlled test.
