A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11If you’re changing the devotional video, audio, or playlist, keep your encoder connected to the existing YouTube stream and switch the media source or scene inside it. That can avoid deliberately ending the live session, but it is not a guarantee of a perfectly gapless change. If you mean changing the encoder, stream key, or managed streaming service, plan a handoff: YouTube’s setup guidance does not promise that switching connections will preserve the same live event without interruption.
First, identify what you’re changing
“Changing the loop service” can mean two different things. The distinction determines whether you can make the change within your current live production or need to plan for a possible interruption.
| Change | What it means | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Program content | Change a video, audio file, playlist, scene, or loop inside the encoder. | Keep the outgoing YouTube feed running and switch what it carries. This avoids intentionally stopping the session, but does not guarantee no buffering, dropped frames, or other faults. |
| Stream connection | Change the encoder, destination URL, stream key, connected account, or service sending the feed. | Treat it as a planned reconfiguration. YouTube explains how to set up an encoder and reset a key, but does not establish that a cross-service handoff preserves the same live event without interruption. |
YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” They tell an encoder where and how to send its feed; if you reset a key, you must update the encoder with the new one. See YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings.
Change a loop in OBS while keeping the stream connected
This workflow is for changing the material viewers see while OBS continues sending the existing feed to YouTube. YouTube’s encoder instructions say to stop sending content to end the stream, so do not use Stop Streaming or end the event in YouTube Studio if retaining the current session is your goal. The steps reduce avoidable disruption; they cannot guarantee a flawless transition in every setup.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Confirm the scope. If only the devotional video, audio, playlist, or visual arrangement is changing, leave the YouTube destination and current stream session alone. If you need to replace the encoder, key, or destination, schedule and communicate a possible interruption instead.
- Prepare the replacement source. In OBS, add a Media Source for one local audio or video file and enable its Loop setting. For a playlist, add a VLC Video source, prepare the playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed for OBS’s VLC source to work. See the OBS Project Media Sources guide.
- Check the new material before taking it live. Confirm that it plays, has the intended picture and sound, and is positioned correctly in the scene. OBS scenes organize sources; Studio Mode lets you prepare a scene separately and transition it to the live output. See the OBS Studio Overview Guide.
- Transition with the outgoing feed active. Use the prepared scene or source in OBS while leaving its stream connection running. Avoid pressing Stop Streaming in OBS or ending the live stream in YouTube Studio.
- Monitor after the switch. Check YouTube’s preview and OBS’s connection indicators during and after the transition. Watch and listen for missing picture, silence, a stalled source, or a disconnected feed; intervene if the source or connection has failed.
OBS profiles store stream and output settings, while scenes are managed separately. Changing a scene is therefore distinct from changing the connection profile; avoid treating a scene switch as a reason to alter the stream key or destination. See OBS Project Profiles.
If you need to change the encoder, key, or service
YouTube supports encoder-based live streams using software or standalone hardware. Its setup guidance covers connecting an encoder with a stream URL and key, but it does not describe a universal procedure for moving an active feed between encoders or providers while retaining the same uninterrupted event. Do not assume that opening a second service or swapping keys midstream will keep viewers on the same live session.

- Check the new connection requirements. Confirm that the replacement encoder or service can send to YouTube using the required destination and settings, and establish who controls the stream key.
- Configure before the planned change where possible. Verify the source and connection settings before switching. If a new key is required, update the encoder with the newly generated key; YouTube’s guidance does not promise continuity during that reconfiguration.
- Plan viewer communication and recovery. Tell viewers when a brief interruption may occur, and decide how you will restore the feed if the new connection does not come up. Check whether the YouTube event remains available rather than assuming it will.
A standalone hardware encoder is an alternative to software encoding, not a proven shortcut to seamless migration. How it accepts sources, maintains the YouTube connection, allows remote control, and recovers after failure varies by device; no particular device’s handoff behavior is established here. YouTube’s encoder overview is at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a devotional loop that should keep running without a computer at home, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It keeps the uploaded material looping from the cloud; it does not broadcast a camera feed. Nothing has to stay on at home, uploads stream as made up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. Learn about StreamNeo, or start your free first day.

Troubleshoot a change that goes wrong
- The new video or playlist is blank or will not play: Check that the file is supported and available to the source. If using OBS’s VLC Video source, confirm VLC is installed; otherwise use a Media Source for a single file or another prepared source.
- The new source plays in OBS but viewers still see the old scene: Check that you transitioned the prepared scene to the live output in Studio Mode, rather than only changing the preview.
- The picture changes but audio is missing: Check the replacement source’s audio and OBS’s mixer levels before and after the transition. Confirm the intended audio is not muted.
- YouTube disconnects after a key change: Verify that the encoder is using the current stream key and correct stream URL. A reset key requires updating the encoder connection settings.
- The stream stops during a service or encoder change: Re-establish the YouTube connection using the configured destination and key, then check the live event in YouTube Studio. The available official guidance does not establish a way to guarantee recovery into the same uninterrupted event.
Protect the devotional stream’s content and continuity
Before replacing a loop, confirm that you have the rights needed for the video, music, readings, or other material in it. A live loop does not make copyrighted material exempt from YouTube’s rules. Keep a local record of the source files and permissions, and verify the new material before switching so that a content change does not become an avoidable rights or playback problem.
