To loop one prerecorded jewellery video in OBS, add it as a Media Source and enable Loop. To rotate several clips, use an OBS VLC Video source, add the files to its playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. Then connect OBS to a stream in YouTube Studio, check the preview, and click Go live in Live Control Room.
Choose the right OBS source

OBS Media Source supports common formats including MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF, and WebM. For multiple clips, Shuffle Playlist is off by default, so the playlist follows its configured order unless you change that setting. Prepare the video and check permissions
Keep the files in a stable local folder so OBS can continue to access them. Before streaming, confirm the shop has the rights needed for every product clip, music track, voiceover, and other included material. YouTube’s live-stream terms put responsibility for necessary rights, including music rights, on the provider; archived streams can also be subject to copyright claims. Set up the loop in OBS
For one video
- Open the scene you intend to stream. In the Sources panel, select + and choose Media Source.
- Create a new source or select an existing one, then browse to the product video file.
- Enable Loop so playback restarts when the file ends. Check the source in the OBS preview and adjust its placement so product details are visible in the stream canvas.
For a playlist
- Install VLC. OBS’s VLC Video source is available only when VLC is installed; match the architecture when applicable—64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC.
- In the OBS scene, select + in Sources and choose VLC Video.
- Add the product videos to the source playlist and arrange them in the order you want. Leave Shuffle Playlist off for a fixed sequence.
- Enable Loop Playlist to restart the playlist after its last file. Check the OBS preview to confirm the clips play in the desired order and frame correctly.
If your OBS production uses multiple scenes, check the VLC source’s visibility behavior. Depending on its setting, hiding the source can stop playback and showing it can restart playback. This can affect whether a clip continues from where it left off when you switch scenes. OBS Project: Media Sources

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Check that the shop’s YouTube channel is eligible for live streaming. YouTube says live-streaming access requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days; its general eligibility page says streamers must be at least 16. Confirm the account’s status in YouTube Studio before planning a broadcast. YouTube live-streaming eligibility
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create or select an encoder stream.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream into OBS’s streaming settings. Treat the key as a credential: YouTube describes it as the encoder’s stream password and address. Do not share it publicly.
- Start streaming from OBS. Wait for the incoming video and audio preview in Live Control Room, then check framing and sound before clicking Go live there. OBS sends the encoder feed; the YouTube control-room action starts the public broadcast.
- When finished, end the broadcast in Live Control Room and stop the encoder in OBS. YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; check the current interface and settings for the specific stream. YouTube: Stream using an encoder
Test and monitor the product stream
Start the setup well ahead of the time you plan to go public. YouTube recommends preparing the encoder in advance and continuously monitoring audio and video during a stream. In the preview, verify that the jewellery is framed clearly, the loop is playing, and any audio is intentional. YouTube live-streaming tips
- Check that the selected scene contains the intended Media Source or VLC Video source.
- For a playlist, confirm that VLC is installed and that each clip appears in the playlist in the intended order.
- Check the preview after starting OBS and before clicking Go live.
- If you use multiple scenes, test switching scenes to see whether a hidden VLC source stops or restarts playback.
Troubleshoot common loop problems
The video plays once and stops
For a single file, open the Media Source properties and enable Loop. For a sequence, open the VLC Video source properties and enable Loop Playlist.

VLC Video is missing from the source menu
Install VLC and restart or reopen OBS. If OBS is 64-bit, make sure VLC is also 64-bit; a mismatched architecture can prevent the source from appearing.
The clips play in the wrong order
Review the playlist order in the VLC Video source and make sure Shuffle Playlist is off if you want a fixed sequence.

A playlist stops or starts over after a scene change
Review the VLC source’s visibility behavior. Hiding the source can stop playback and showing it can restart it, depending on the setting. Test scene transitions before the public broadcast.
The preview does not appear in YouTube
Confirm OBS is streaming and that the stream URL and key in OBS match the stream selected in Live Control Room. Wait for the incoming preview before clicking Go live.

A copyright claim appears
Check the rights for the footage, music, voiceover, and other included material. YouTube notes that archived streams may receive Content ID claims after the live broadcast ends, so a stream that appeared to run normally is not proof that all material is cleared. YouTube copyright guidance
