To accept tips through Streamlabs, connect an available payment option in the Streamlabs Dashboard, customize your Tip Page, share its URL with viewers, and—if you want on-stream acknowledgments—set up and test alerts. Streamlabs says it takes no cut of tips, but payment processing fees may apply, and payment options vary by region.
1. Connect a payment method
- Sign in to the Streamlabs Dashboard and open Tipping.
- Choose an available PayPal option and select Connect.
- Complete authorization in the provider pop-up, then check the dashboard to confirm the connection.
Streamlabs’ quick guide, published May 20, 2026, recommends PayPal Business for creators who want to offer credit-card payments and, in the United States, Venmo. PayPal Standard accepts PayPal only. The options offered can vary by region and account, so use the choices shown in your own dashboard rather than assuming every method is available everywhere. Streamlabs’ setup guide explains the connection flow; its Tipping product page also notes regional variation.
Streamlabs says it does not take a cut of tips, excluding standard credit-card processing fees. That is Streamlabs’ description of its own platform fee, not a promise that payment processing is free. The sources do not establish a universal processing rate, payout schedule, or outcome for payment disputes; check the terms for the provider and account you connect. Tax obligations depend on your circumstances and location.
2. Customize the Tip Page
After connecting a provider, open Tipping and locate the Tip Page URL. Streamlabs’ May 20, 2026 quick guide says it appears at the top right, under the profile picture. Use the page controls to choose the currency, minimum tip, preset amounts, whether to offer monthly tipping, and the basic page design. Save your changes.

Optional design and older controls
For additional design options, the quick guide directs creators to Custom Website > Design, where it lists fonts and a logo. A Twitch-focused Streamlabs support article, last updated October 3, 2024, also documents recommended amounts, a visitor-facing message, a banner image, profanity filtering, Tip History, and CSV export. These controls may be named differently or may not be available to every account today, so check the current dashboard before relying on a particular label or feature. 3. Share the Tip Page URL
Copy the URL from the Tipping section and put it somewhere viewers can find it. Streamlabs’ current guide suggests placements such as:
- Twitch or Kick: a channel panel, such as a “Donate” image panel.
- YouTube: channel information and relevant stream descriptions.
- Facebook: page information and stream descriptions.
- Instagram or TikTok: the profile bio, where the platform’s current interface permits.
Choose placements that suit the platform’s current features and policies. Check the link while signed out or in a private browser window so you can see what a viewer will encounter.

4. Set up and test tip alerts (optional)
The Tip Page accepts tips; alerts are a separate, optional way to acknowledge events on stream. To configure them, open Alert Box in the Streamlabs Dashboard. Streamlabs’ alert guide lists general controls for delay, moderation, alert interruption behavior, and profanity filtering. Event-specific settings can include images, text, sounds, and variations. The exact display depends on your configuration and streaming software.

- Customize tip events: open the relevant event settings and configure the visual, text, and sound elements you want viewers to see or hear.
- Add the alert to your streaming software: in Streamlabs Desktop, add Alert Box as a source. In OBS with the Streamlabs plugin, add its widget. In other programs, use the widget URL as a browser source.
- Run a test: use the dashboard’s test controls or the test widgets in your software, then confirm the alert appears and sounds as expected before going live.

5. Troubleshoot common setup problems
- No payment option you expected: availability can vary by region and account. Review the options actually listed under Tipping; the sources do not establish that every payment method is available in every country.
- Provider connection does not complete: confirm that you finish the authorization in the provider pop-up, then return to the dashboard and check the connection status. If it still does not connect, consult Streamlabs support and the provider’s account requirements.
- Viewers cannot find the page: verify that you copied the Tip Page URL from the dashboard and placed it in a visible channel panel, profile area, or stream description. Open it as a viewer to check that the link works.
- An alert does not show in the broadcast: confirm that the Alert Box or browser-source widget has been added to the correct scene, then run a dashboard or software test. Check that the source is visible and not covered by another layer.
- Alert appears but has no sound or the wrong design: review the event-specific image, text, and sound settings, then run another test before going live.
