To run prerecorded sleep sounds as a scheduled YouTube Live event, schedule the event in YouTube Studio and send it a continuous feed from an encoder. Scheduling creates the event page; it does not play or loop your playlist by itself. You can run the encoder on a computer, use dedicated hardware, or use a cloud service. Before planning a single 24/7 broadcast, account for YouTube’s archive and DVR limits: a complete replay is not guaranteed.
What you need before scheduling
- A YouTube channel eligible to stream live. YouTube requires channel verification and no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned broadcast.
- An encoder that can keep sending the feed. This can be software on a computer, a hardware encoder, or a cloud service. It must be configured to send your prerecorded sleep-sounds video continuously; the YouTube event scheduler is not a media player.
- Permission for every element in the broadcast. Check that the license for the sound recordings, music, visuals, and other material permits livestreaming and continuous rebroadcast. A track being purchased, self-made, or described as royalty-free does not by itself establish that it is cleared for this use.
- A plan for power, connectivity, monitoring, and recovery. If you use a computer or hardware encoder, consider what happens if its power or internet connection fails. YouTube’s setup guidance recommends testing and monitoring; it does not guarantee unattended uptime.
YouTube’s official encoder instructions describe software and standalone hardware options, while its verified encoder list can help you explore supported choices. Being listed does not establish that a particular option can reliably loop prerecorded media around the clock.
Prepare the sleep-sounds feed
Build and check the media
Prepare the video and audio in the encoder or service you choose. If it has a playlist or looping function, test it before scheduling: confirm that playback repeats as intended, transitions do not leave gaps, and both audio and video remain present. YouTube’s general encoder instructions do not specify a universal playlist-loop setting, so the exact control depends on your encoder.
Choose how the stream will be maintained
- Computer and software encoder: You maintain the computer, power, network connection, software, and recovery process. The computer must remain available while it is sending the feed.
- Dedicated hardware encoder: The device sends the feed, but you still need to plan for its power, connection, media source, and monitoring.
- Cloud encoder: A service sends the feed from its infrastructure, so a home computer does not have to run the encoder. Check the service’s actual playback, recovery, monitoring, and YouTube support details rather than assuming a 24/7 guarantee.
Schedule the event in YouTube Studio
- Open the Live Control Room: In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live → Manage → Schedule stream.
- Create or reuse an event: Choose to create a new stream or reuse settings from an earlier one. Check reused details rather than assuming they suit this broadcast.
- Enter the event details: Add the title, description, thumbnail, audience setting, privacy, and any other applicable stream details, then save the scheduled event.
- Choose an audience and privacy setting: Use public if you want the event discoverable, unlisted if viewers should access it by link, or private for restricted access. YouTube notes that privacy defaults may differ by age; review and change the setting as needed.
- Share the scheduled watch page if useful: Eligible viewers can use YouTube’s “Notify me” option for a scheduled stream.
You can schedule the event before the feed is running, but the scheduled page will not supply the prerecorded content. That requires the encoder connection and a live feed.

#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Connect the encoder and start the broadcast
- Open the event’s stream settings in Live Control Room. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the event.
- Enter those details in your encoder. Select its YouTube preset if it offers one. Otherwise, paste the YouTube stream URL into the server or ingest URL field and the key into the stream-key field.
- Protect the stream key. YouTube Help says, “Stream keys are like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Do not share it publicly. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update the encoder with the replacement.
- Start the encoder early. YouTube recommends setting up encoders at least two hours ahead and starting them at least 15 minutes before the event. Allow that time to catch configuration or connection problems before viewers arrive.
- Inspect the preview and playback. Confirm that the Live Control Room preview appears, the intended sound and visuals are playing, and the watch page works. Check mobile playback as well as audio and video quality.
- Go live when ready. Once the preview and event details are right, select Go live in Live Control Room when the scheduled event is ready to begin.
- Monitor during the broadcast. Watch the encoder and stream quality, and have a recovery plan for encoder, power, or connection failures. A preview before launch does not establish that the stream will stay online unattended.
Plan separately for a complete replay
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its DVR guidance says rewind may be limited or unavailable when a stream runs longer than 12 hours. The cited guidance does not promise that one 24/7 broadcast will be preserved as a complete replay. If complete on-demand sleep-sounds episodes matter, arrange and verify a separate recording and publishing workflow instead of relying on one long live archive.

StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping uploaded videos live; it does not stream from a camera. Upload your sleep-sounds recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud continues sending the feed, so nothing has to stay on at home. It streams the file as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot regardless of quality, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly access is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for details, then start your free first day.
