To keep a recorded wedding venue showcase live on YouTube around the clock, send it to YouTube Live as an encoder feed. You can play a video or playlist through OBS on a computer that stays powered and connected, or upload it to a cloud encoder that runs without your computer in the broadcast chain. In both cases, set up the broadcast in YouTube Live Control Room, connect the encoder with your stream URL and private stream key, then check the preview and stream health before going live.
Before you start: check channel access and prepare the showcase
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days to enable live streaming. Check eligibility before you schedule the broadcast in YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
Decide whether the stream should be public, unlisted, or private. In Live Control Room, prepare an accurate title and description, choose the appropriate category and audience setting, and add a thumbnail. YouTube supports encoder streams for formats such as events and conferences, and its live-stream settings guidance covers scheduled broadcasts and stream keys.
Review the whole video or playlist before launch. Check that the orientation is correct, audio is present, there are no unintended black sections, and transitions make sense when the video loops. The YouTube guidance cited here does not prescribe a particular container or codec for this use case.

Choose how to play the video continuously
Local option: OBS Studio on a computer
With a local encoder, OBS plays the video or playlist and sends it to YouTube. The computer and its internet connection stay in the broadcast path, so plan for reliable power and network access and arrange for someone to check the stream. The available guidance does not establish minimum computer specifications for this particular setup.
- Install and open OBS Studio. Add the recorded showcase as a media source, or add and arrange the sources needed for a playlist.
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube as the service, and connect using the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Live Control Room. Keep the key private; YouTube treats it as a sensitive credential.
- Start streaming from OBS. Check the YouTube preview and stream status in Live Control Room before making the broadcast public or letting a scheduled broadcast start.
- Keep OBS running and monitor both the YouTube stream health and the actual playback. A local stream stops reaching YouTube if the computer loses power, the application closes, or its internet connection fails.
YouTube’s OBS-to-YouTube guide covers the encoder connection. These sources do not establish a single bitrate, resolution, or keyframe interval suitable for every recording and connection; use settings that match the source and available upload bandwidth, then confirm YouTube reports a healthy incoming stream.

Cloud option: run the playlist remotely
A cloud encoder plays media after upload and sends the encoder feed to YouTube without requiring a computer at home to remain online. Connect the encoder and start the YouTube broadcast
- In YouTube Live Control Room, create or schedule a broadcast and set its visibility and details.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from the broadcast settings into your encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone with access may be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Start playback in OBS or the cloud encoder. Wait for the YouTube preview and stream-health status, and check that the image and sound are correct.
- Make the stream live using the scheduled-broadcast controls, if applicable. Watch the live playback after launch rather than relying only on the encoder’s status.
YouTube’s live-stream settings page explains broadcast settings and stream keys. For a planned continuous stream, confirm the selected visibility and schedule are what you intend before sharing the link.

Plan for the stream and the replay separately
YouTube’s developer documentation describes a 24/7 feed as a live-streaming use case. But continuous availability does not guarantee a replay archive: YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a replay, keep a local recording or plan shorter broadcasts and verify the archive workflow before launch. See YouTube’s archive guidance.

A venue showcase can contain music, people, vendor branding, or footage supplied by others. Confirm that you have the rights needed to stream the recording, music, and third-party material on YouTube. YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to have the necessary rights, including music licensing rights from relevant rights participants; the rules that apply to a particular video can depend on its licenses and jurisdiction. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches. A match can trigger a warning; if it remains, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. For licensed third-party content, the rights owner may need to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist; having a license alone does not necessarily prevent interruption. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams. Do not assume that music heard at the original venue is cleared for an online live broadcast.
Understand monetization and viewer expectations
YouTube applies its monetization policies to live streams. Its channel monetization policy says content in the YouTube Partner Program must be original and authentic; repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible. A continuously live showcase is not automatically eligible or ineligible based on that fact alone, and going live does not guarantee reach or revenue. See YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
A continuous stream suits viewers who may arrive at any time and want to see an ongoing presentation. If you instead want one finished video to start at a planned time, consider whether a Premiere better fits that viewing experience; it is a different format, not a substitute for an always-running feed.

Troubleshoot common problems
- You cannot start a live stream: check channel verification and whether a live-stream restriction occurred in the preceding 90 days.
- YouTube shows no preview or an unhealthy feed: confirm the encoder is running, its stream URL and key match the intended broadcast, and the internet connection is available. Recheck the preview before making the stream public.
- The stream stops when nobody is watching: a local OBS setup depends on the computer, application, power, and internet connection remaining available. Consider a cloud encoder if you do not want a home computer in the stream path.
- The stream is interrupted after a copyright warning: review the matched content and permissions. If the content is licensed, ask the rights owner about adding your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license may not prevent an interruption by itself.
- The live broadcast exists but the replay is missing: check its duration. Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured, so preserve a local recording or use a planned series of shorter broadcasts if an archive matters.
