Schedule the show in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, match the saved event’s displayed date and time to the programme’s Indian Standard Time (IST) run sheet, then share the event page and connect your encoder before airtime. YouTube’s help explains how to schedule an encoder stream, but does not establish a universal IST selector or time-zone display across every Studio version. Verify the saved event time before announcing it.
Schedule the upcoming YouTube livestream
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live to open the Live Control Room.
- Open Manage, then choose Schedule stream.
- Choose whether to reuse settings from a previous show or create a new stream. Review the episode title, description, visibility and other metadata before saving. See YouTube’s live stream settings guidance.
- Set the planned date and time to match the intended IST airtime. The exact time-zone control and behavior are not specified for every Studio interface. Check the time shown in the saved event against the IST run sheet. If the interface offers a time-zone choice, select the one that makes the displayed event correspond to the intended IST slot; do not assume your device or account setting silently uses IST.
Share the event and help viewers find it
After saving, copy the scheduled watch-page URL and share it with your audience. YouTube says a scheduled stream may appear in subscribers’ feeds as upcoming, and viewers can choose Notify me near the start. The event page gives listeners a place to return to at the announced time. See YouTube’s scheduling information and upcoming live stream and reminder guidance.
Put the airtime in IST wherever you promote the show, and use the same time in the team’s run sheet. If the programme time changes, update the event and tell viewers through the same channels used for the original announcement.
Connect and test the encoder before airtime
- Open the scheduled event’s stream settings and copy its YouTube Live server URL and stream key into your encoder. The key lets YouTube accept the incoming feed, so treat it like a credential: do not publish it or share it outside the production team. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions explain the connection details.
- Set up the encoder well ahead of the show. YouTube recommends setup at least two hours before the event and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before it. These are operational recommendations, not guarantees of a successful broadcast. See YouTube’s live streaming tips.
- Start the encoder early enough to check the Live Control Room preview. Confirm the event is reachable from the channel and watch pages, including on a mobile device, and monitor audio and video quality before the announced start.
Plan a repeatable show schedule
Choose a cadence the production team can maintain, publish it clearly, and communicate changes when they occur. YouTube’s live upload schedule tips call a consistent, sustainable release schedule important for setting audience expectations and maintaining creator well-being. Do not promise a frequency the team cannot reliably deliver.

Check music and programme rights
If the Hindi radio show includes recorded music or other material you did not create, confirm that you have the rights needed for the planned YouTube broadcast and territories. A scheduled event and a working encoder do not establish permission to stream a track; resolve rights with the relevant rights holders before going live.
When a scheduled show is not ready
- The event shows the wrong time: compare the saved display with the IST run sheet before promotion. Correct the event using the controls available in your Studio interface; do not rely on an assumed device time-zone conversion.
- The Live Control Room receives no feed: verify that the encoder is using the server URL and stream key for this scheduled event, then reconnect and inspect the preview.
- The event page is difficult to find: share the scheduled watch-page URL directly and confirm it opens on both channel and watch pages.
- Viewers report a different start time: check the event’s displayed time and the IST time published in your announcement, then correct the event or message viewers with the confirmed airtime.
- Audio or video is poor in preview: check the production feed before the start and allow time to resolve the issue rather than waiting until the announced airtime.
