Yes. You can collect donations during a 24/7 YouTube livestream without Super Chat, but the right method depends on who receives the money. YouTube Giving provides a Donate button for eligible nonprofit fundraisers; for personal creator support, you can direct viewers to an external payment destination using a clickable YouTube link. These are different routes, and YouTube does not promise that a Donate control will stay available uninterrupted throughout a continuous broadcast.
Choose the donation route based on who gets the money

YouTube Giving is not the documented way to collect personal tips. Conversely, an external link is not a YouTube Giving fundraiser: viewers leave YouTube or use the destination you link, and YouTube does not thereby process or endorse the payment. Check the provider’s rules and country availability before sharing it.
What YouTube Giving requires
YouTube’s eligibility guidance says a channel must be based in a supported location, have at least 10,000 subscribers, participate in the YouTube Partner Program, and not be designated as made for kids. The guidance notes that some channels may appear to have access even if they do not meet the listed requirements, so treat these as the stated eligibility criteria rather than a guarantee that every exceptional case is excluded. Check the current YouTube Giving FAQs for availability and eligibility.
The fundraiser must also be for an eligible nonprofit. YouTube says 100% of a YouTube Giving contribution goes to the nonprofit and that YouTube pays the transaction fees; its guidance also says these donations are non-refundable. Those terms apply to YouTube Giving, not to an external payment service.

Set up Live Chat Donations for a scheduled stream
- In YouTube Studio, add a YouTube Giving fundraiser to the scheduled live stream. Confirm that the selected nonprofit and fundraiser are eligible and that the fundraiser has started. YouTube’s live-chat donation feature is called Live Chat Donations; YouTube says “Super Chat for Good is now Live Chat Donations.” See the YouTube Giving FAQs for Live Chat Donations.
- Choose whether live chat will be enabled. With live chat enabled, viewers can see the Donate button in chat. If live chat is not enabled, YouTube says the Donate button appears next to or below the stream instead. Viewers on mobile may need to view the live stream in portrait orientation to see live chat.
- Check the stream’s audience setting. The content must not be designated as made for kids for the fundraiser button to appear.
- Verify the viewer-facing stream after setup. Check the live watch page on the devices and stream formats your audience uses. YouTube identifies the fundraiser start time, made-for-kids setting, and mobile orientation among reasons a Donate button might not appear. Its guidance describes setup and live-stream use, but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability during a 24/7 broadcast.
When Live Chat Donations are active, Super Chat and Super Stickers are turned off for that stream. This is a feature interaction, not a way to keep Super Chat active alongside the nonprofit donation button.
Use an external link for personal support
If your goal is to receive personal support rather than raise money for an eligible nonprofit, choose a payment destination whose terms fit that use, then make its link available in a YouTube placement viewers can click. YouTube allows up to 14 channel profile links, with the first featured prominently on the channel profile. Check YouTube’s channel profile link guidance for current details.

- Horizontal live stream: URLs in live chat and channel descriptions are clickable. Clickable external links in long-form comments and descriptions require advanced features access.
- Vertical live feed in the mobile app: YouTube’s link guidance says URLs in live chat and channel descriptions are not clickable there. Do not assume the same placement will work for viewers watching vertically on mobile.
Test the link from the viewer’s perspective, including on mobile and in the stream format your audience uses. YouTube’s link-sharing guidance explains placement and clickability, while its external links policy applies across YouTube. Links directing viewers to content that violates YouTube’s policies are not allowed.
The YouTube sources cited here do not establish which external donation provider is best or verify any provider’s fees, country availability, payout timing, tax treatment, or referral program. Confirm those points directly with the provider before asking viewers to use it.

Keep the broadcast running separately from the donation setup
A continuous stream and its donation route are separate matters: a streaming service does not make a YouTube Giving fundraiser eligible or guarantee that a Donate button remains visible.
