You can create a 24/7 YouTube piano study music radio channel by clearing the music and visuals for livestream use, enabling encoder access on a verified YouTube channel, and keeping a continuous audio-and-video feed running. The most consequential decisions come before launch: YouTube can interrupt streams that contain detected third-party material, and a broadcast longer than 12 hours may not be saved as a replay.
1. Make sure the channel can livestream
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. For a designed radio-style broadcast, use encoder streaming: it supplies a continuous audio-and-video feed and supports a composed visual layout. Check YouTube’s current requirements and enable live streaming before building the rest of the setup.

2. Clear every track and visual for the way you plan to use it
Use piano recordings and visual assets you own or have permission to use. Read each license for the territory covered and whether it permits continuous livestreaming, looping, archived-video use, and monetization. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions put responsibility for the necessary rights on the content provider, including music licensing rights involving artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants.

A “royalty-free” label by itself does not establish that a track is cleared for every live, looped, and archived use. If you license third-party music, ask the rights holder whether your channel needs to be added to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may show a placeholder, warn you, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. A license does not necessarily prevent an interruption if the owner has not allowlisted your channel.

3. Build a broadcast viewers can recognize as yours
Choose a purposeful music program
Arrange tracks into a listening experience rather than relying on an unexplained endless loop. You might organize original or cleared piano pieces by mood, intensity, or session length, and make the sequence useful for studying. Keep a record of track titles, rights holders, license terms, and any required credit so you can answer a claim or update the playlist later.
Use visuals you are entitled to broadcast
Create or license the background, animation, artwork, and on-screen text just as carefully as the music. A quiet static scene can suit a study stream, but the channel should still offer a discernible creative contribution through its music, visual identity, programming, or presentation.

That distinction matters for monetization. YouTube’s channel monetization rules apply to livestreams; its July 15, 2025 clarification calls the repetitious-content policy “inauthentic content” and says highly repetitive, mass-produced, or interchangeable material may be ineligible. A static image with a long loop is not automatically disqualified by the cited policy, but approval is not guaranteed. Build the channel around original work and meaningful programming rather than assuming a 24-hour loop will qualify.

4. Set up a continuous encoder

OBS Studio: Streaming with OBS Studio
- Prepare the media. Put the cleared tracks and visuals into the playback and scene arrangement you intend to broadcast. Test the full sequence, transitions, audio levels, and restart behavior before going live.
- Connect the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and select encoder streaming. Connect OBS using YouTube’s current account integration or the stream key shown for that broadcast, following the current prompts in both products.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: do not show it on screen, share it publicly, or include it in screenshots. Anyone with access may be able to broadcast to your channel. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio.
- Test before announcing a nonstop channel. Check that the video and audio reach the intended live event, the playlist advances, and the stream can recover after a deliberate test interruption. Watch the outgoing broadcast rather than assuming that a running encoder means viewers are receiving it.
- Plan for failure. A computer, encoder, power supply, media playlist, or network connection can stop working. Keep source files and credentials secure, monitor the broadcast, and decide who will respond if it drops. These are operational precautions, not a promise of uninterrupted service.
There is no universal computer specification established for a 24/7 stream. The resources you need depend on your resolution, scene complexity, playback method, and encoder settings. A desktop computer may be suitable for a do-it-yourself setup, but assess it against your actual production and test it over time before depending on it.
5. Choose between one long stream and shorter sessions
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. That makes a single continuous 24-hour broadcast a poor choice if you need YouTube to provide a complete replay.

If having a complete recording matters, keep a local recording backup and test that it captures both audio and video for the length you need. YouTube recommends a local backup for long streams; do not assume the platform will preserve a complete 24-hour replay.

A local computer and encoder provide direct control over your scenes and source files, but continuity depends on your computer, power, network, and response to failures. A hosted cloud service moves the continuous playback off your home computer, but check that it explicitly supports YouTube and understand what its plan includes. For either approach, test the actual playlist and recovery process before presenting the channel as always available.

7. Troubleshoot the problems most likely to interrupt launch
- You cannot start a live stream: verify the channel, check that live streaming is enabled, and confirm there is no live-streaming restriction from the previous 90 days.
- YouTube interrupts or replaces the broadcast: review the live notification and identify the detected material. Confirm the track and visual licenses cover livestreaming, then contact the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting if you have a license.

8. Use a pre-launch checklist
- The YouTube channel is verified, enabled for live streaming, and has no relevant restriction in the prior 90 days.
- Music and visuals are owned or licensed for the intended territory, live use, loop, archive, and monetization; any needed Content ID allowlisting is addressed.
- The playlist, scene, audio levels, encoder connection, stream key security, and recovery steps have been tested.
- You have chosen whether the priority is a continuous 24/7 destination or separate sessions with better prospects for YouTube archives.
- If you need a complete recording, a local backup has been tested.
- The channel’s creative contribution and monetization expectations align with YouTube’s current policies.
